E46 M3 - Coupe vs Convertible
Discussion
Convertible, especially if it's not your dd. Doesn't matter what car, nothing compares to open-top motoring when you have a decent engine as the soundtrack, even if you are losing a fraction of the performance/handling. I can honestly say one of the most exhilarating feelings I get is driving with the roof down, V10 engine howling behind me. I driven well out of my way just to get to a decent tunnel, drop it into 3rd and floor it. No coupe will give you that buzz

I'd agree but the M3 chassis does suffer quite a bit with scuttle shake, which does annoy more. At least the 70k mile 2002 manual I drove did.But I'll admit, in a tunnel with the roof down it would be a very different scenario. I loved that about my Stag!
