Chris,

Did you warp the discs on track?

Kyri
Originally yes, Blyton Park, nowhere to properly cool down but ont hat day limited to 5 laps a go so ya know naivity meant only doing one cool down lap on a very small track and no pit lane. I then also did Donni on them and that obviously made it worse. BMW fixed them on warranty but basically told me that they wouldn't do it again. Which is fair enough. I should have thought ahead (honestly didn't think I would be doing that many track days) took em off and put some discs, pads, lines n fluid on. Saved the replaced ones for when it came to selling the car. Ah well ya live n learn. The shuddering that's come back happened on a normal drive out... but I think it's brake pad deposits because it seems to come and go which I find strange. Looking at putting on RS29 pads, some brake lines n fluid and see how it goes. Leave the discs until I know they're defo warped again.

Certainly sounds like pad deposits - which is not a worry. Normal braking for a fortnight will cure that.
If you do fit the Pagid RS29 pad be sure to bed them in properly. You'll know you have once they feel like the standard pad, and don't squeal.

All, I've bought the DS2500 pads as suggested, but the wear sensors don't fit on the rear... How do you get around this?

Tie wrap them out of the way and keep on eye on the pad thickness? Like in the old days. wink

As an update, have since done another track day. 2500s, srf fluid and braided lines. Could chomp out 4/5 laps rather than 1. Significant improvement. Also as we said, no squealing.

Without digging out all the invoices, if i had to put a figure. I think brake pads were 300ish for a full set. Hoses 30ish. Fluid was about 55. So probably fitted 450-500.

Just to add to the thread i watched a Joe Achilles vid last night on brake pads for his Comp.

He never went for the M Sport Brake upgrade from new and instead just replaced his pads with EBC pads.

Latest set were the EBC Black pads at the front.

He seemed quite a fan of them with only minimal squeaking

He probably got them for free to use in the video? Anything for views with that guy.

After having an EBC pad fall off the backing plate I'd never trust them again. Admittedly it was years ago now. But that's more risk than I want to carry on my brakes!

Fully understand and yes im sure he gets a ton of free parts.

Plan may be to wear out my current pads then upgrade them

It is an interesting choice of pad, unless he intends track days/racing?

Not an EBC hater here, I have red and greenstuff over all my cars. They are just fine ( the reds even survived a full tank of gas round the track - shock horror!)
