New M3 saloon spotted testing yesterday
Discussion
was in munich yesterday - saw two blue saloons cruise up at a brisk pace in the rear view. as an e90 v8 n/a screamer advocate was expected to be underwhelmed by sound - and although not as spine curling as an S65 - did not sound to bad at all when the drivers clogs went down and they resumed their testing activities - sorry for crap phone pix:
Is there any particular reason I've missed why all bmw's now have that horrible straight line on the bonnet. For something so small it seems to make a huge difference to the look of the front (for me anyway), why not just have the bonnet go down to the lights and the top of the grill like they used to?
As for the M3, looks good. I think this is going to be another case of preferring the saloon to the coupe.

Did you guys not have a little roll on race??
Was in a friends oil burner X5 as a passenger - not the m3 - but i doubt that in a roll on - with the new cars lighter weight/greater torque from the twin snails - the e90 would be able to keep up - but although the new one really did sound much better than i expected - it did not match the opera that comes with s65 - especially with the back box mod.i liked the colour too - sort of reminiscent of the riviera blue you get on some pork gt3. the colour with the pumped arches made you realise the car was a bit of hot rod. anyway on first impressions - despite being firmly in luddite/manual/nat asp screamer camp - have to grudgingly admit in the flesh the new car caused a bit of lustful thinking...

Crash safety for pedestrians I think. The front edge is now plastic bumper and without a reinforced hard edge until further up into the bonnet. As for the M3, looks good. I think this is going to be another case of preferring the saloon to the coupe.
