F10 M5 Clutch Judder
Discussion
I've read various things about this on the web. But I've not yet found anyone solving the issue - or if it even is an issue.
Generally judders on take off when there is a slight incline. I understand its the same/similar gearbox to the E9X M3, in which I don't remember mine ever juddering.
It's been back into BMW twice for this (approved used warranty) but other than carrying out a biting point reset of sorts, they haven't solved it. It doesn't affect anything, it's just a little annoying.
Does this happen in all M5s/M6s?
Cheers

Mine judders a little when fighting the brakes which are always rusted on after a few days of being parked up.
On a manual its helpful as it avoids handbrake starts but as most of us have two legs then operating a brake pedal and throttle simultaneously isn't too hard!

as though it's fighting the hill start assist you get for a couple of seconds.
Hill start assist is released as soon as you press the throttle. Why oh why it's ever needed on an automatic I'll never know.On a manual its helpful as it avoids handbrake starts but as most of us have two legs then operating a brake pedal and throttle simultaneously isn't too hard!
Tell the dealer to think outside of the box and consider it being the clutch packs.
I've now had two F10 M5s. First one was rejected after the clutch packs went.
I'm on my second one, this car I bought at 10k. Told the dealer off the bat it had a clutch pack issue and was fobbed off for months and months.
Took it to another dealer for a second opinion without highlighting it. Bingo. Clutch packs.
I'm in front of the head of business of the dealer that has messed me about (from an after sales service side of things) to look to resolve the matter.
I won't be getting another one (which I promised myself once before but foolishly went against my better judgement)
Car has broken down on the side of the road 3 times and been recovered on a truck prior to this as well. 7 miles in the bloody main coolant pipe burst and dropped all its water on me too.
Disappointed doesn't feel a strong enough word.
But get a Puma case on the gearbox is my advice (just tell them that's what you want doing)
