1M - Still safe to take the plunge at current prices?

There are a few cars for sale at present that seem to be sticking around white seeming to be the least desirable. Being sad and also being very keen to buy one of these I've been looking now since the start of the year and prices have certainly crept up, maybe Chris Harris to blame (well for buyers anyway not sellers!) Are the best examples with the lowest miles always going to demand a price tag of 50k+ ? It would be really good to think that the car its a safe place to keep your money. I think they are very cool indeed and the fact that only proper petrol heads would have a clue what it was appeals even more. To your average man in the street i would just be a sad middle aged man in an orange 1 series coupe!
