Not that rare but getting harder to find a good one. I bought one at the end of last year, had a bit of welding done but the arches were intact, no history at all and a bit of laquer peel. Paid £1200 for it, cleaned it up and sold it on last month for £1900.

Yep, I paid £4,500 for mine just over 2 years ago as the first UK owner and have since ploughed around a further £4k into it (which I know I won't get back) but she is getting close to exactly how I want her to be and I know she is solid underneath to boot.

My MX has covered less than 50 miles since completion!

Don't know whether to keep her (long term) as a cheap investment as these are getting rare in mint condition OR let her go to someone who will actually have time to drive her.

The MX is one of 9 cars in the household so simply doesn't get used.

Currently have 11 cars (including the MX) so it simply won't get used.

Just realised that the MX5 has run out of MOT (31/03/2017) so she is booked in for tomorrow as my local MOT station does Saturday mornings.

Have just pulled the last MOT paperwork out for reference and she has done 82 miles (eighty two) since then including the quick blast this morning just to make sure she is still running sweet after a winter hibernating!

Cold tarmac, cold air temps and 185/60/14 Nankang NS2R's = lots of wheel spin in first 3 gears - hilarious fun.

The car has done 82 miles since a 20 month £7k+ complete restoration, 436 miles since her last MOT (03/02/2014) prior to me buying the car and a grand total of 20,567 miles since being imported in 2001 - not bad in 17 years.

Fully expect her to sail through the MOT tomorrow with no advisories!
