just one thing to add, i wouldn't add flush twice. do it once, ok, especially if you don't know what was in there. but the best way to use it is to add it to the old oil, drain well, add a medium quality oil (like a cheap synth 5W-40) and run it for say 1000 miles, and then drain that and replace with your regular oil (i.e. the decent one),but don't flush again. the oil in there should remove any remaining bad stuff. flush is agressive and not very good lubricant so the less you have in there mixed up in your oil, the better.
as for roll over bars, i've been sideways at speed more times than i care to remember, and at 80 going completely sideways on the grass at castle combe, and on tarmac on airfield days at 60-70, it's never shown *any* signs whatsoever that it had any desire to roll - it's a fairly low c of g car compared to most others on the road.
all the rest just to echo what others have said. do your brake fluid, you should really have done it when you changed your pads just to keep on top of it, it costs about a fiver for a bottle and it lasts a year give or take. top your engine oil to the max as oil surge under cornering and braking can lead to temporary oil starvation if the level is low. keep an eye on your tyre pressures - you may want to start with them high and then take them down during the day as you get more confident and quicker, and the tyres heat up.
helmets are almost always available for hire, as are instructors. if you are a novice and want to explore the limits of your car as well as learn a bit about how to take proper racing lines and pick your braking points then this is *very* useful, and normally pretty cheap, if not actually free!
bedford is an ok starting point, lots of run-off and frequent novice days where you won't get a load of evo's stuck up your ass. castle combe is worth doing once as it's close and shouldn't be too expensive (i tend not to pay more than 120-130 for my trackdays), brands is reasonably close, i've never been there, heard it's ok (not great) maybe worht a visit but i think it's expensive. the best track nearby is donnington but i wouldn't like to have done it for my first track.

Abit like my mate who drove around germany whilst the world cup was on, decided to pop to the Ring on last day and his car packed up as he pulled into the car park! not happy
I camped at the track the night before and popped out for petrol in the morning. The throttle broke on the way to the petrol station. RAC had to recover the car to home. We stopped off at the track so I could pack up my tent & stuff so I did kind of attend
I have bought a replacement throttle which I will be fitting today. It actually cost me less than it would have cost me in fuel for a day on track and a drive home so I'm in profit, except for the lack of track action
