Come along … COMPLETE !
It’s been in ‘The Autobarn’ for a year. Started as updating the springs / dampers, bushes - to make it safe after a ‘bone snapped a year ago yikes

And then it began. Lots of rot cut out - despite believing I had a good effort made to do the same 8yrs ago - and a tweak or titivation here or there on the rebuil.
Lovely new Raid wheel - although it clips the top of the binnacle view. And the suspension rides great but has lowered it 30mm causing me some scrapes on the rural roads and alike on the cherry bomb mid section of the duals.
However, as said that set of pipes will be defunct year end - as it’s going to Basset Down Balancing / Rocketeer biggrin
driving

On my phone at the mo but will put some more pics of it up later if wanted.
I’ve hundreds of Pics and Videos continually sent by Oli at The Autobarn of the restoration- which it is in reality.

Ok a few as I’ve just pulled out of the garage…..

The finished article : Triggers Broom

I’ve just been collecting a year of updates and video photos from the Whattsapps received- worth of a thread , if the uploading was not so painful !

A comprehensive dismantle, rot cut out and rebuild.

Gaz coil overs now- but a 30mm drop at the rear is giving me difficulties grounding the mid pipe cherry I had welders in moons ago.

Love that colour/wheel combo, I think if I ever go back to MX-5 ownership (sold my NA recently) I'd go for an NC ideally in your spec. The right blend of sporty/comfy/modern for me I think.

Thanks! It's a really nice blue (although the bodywork is a bit scruffy in places) and the white works well with it I think

Excuse the rubbish pics but they're taken from the advert for a cheap NC I just put a deposit down on. I've always liked MX5's and used to deliver Mazda UK's press fleet back in the late 80's when they were first released her. This is my first MK3 though, as I simply couldn't afford a MK1 now and this cost me less than some folk spend on a set of tyres. The plan is just to enjoy it around the Cornish lanes and maybe do the occasional hillclimb or sprint.

Any suggestions for cheap improvements? I hear the NC is sensitive to geo changes and decent tyres?

Fitted some new wheels. Yes, Japan Racing so I'm sure they'll explode and kill me but I like them. ET25 so I took the spacers off, the fronts don't rub on full lock (just!), which was a concern.

Love those wheels. I've been tempted by Japan Racing wheels in the past. Fingers crossed they aren't made from chocolate!!
