Thought I'd share the excitement of my new purchase this morning - the Millcar MX5 Le Mans of 2011 PH Heroes fame.

I should take delivery on Friday, which will be perfect timing for a trip to Europe the following weekend. She won't be a complete garage queen - the plan is to get a few good road trips, a couple of meets and maybe a track day in before the end of the summer.

I know it's a bit of a Marmite car, but I love it's gaudiness and I love how unique and special it is in MX5 and Mazda history. Admittedly, the looks are quite 'special', but it's of an era and I'm a firm believer that cars like this should wear the skin they were born with. If it's good enough for Johnny Herbert...

Anyway - I'll keep this updated and will try to get a readers car thread going once it's here.

Can't stop grinning!
M

I've been browsing the MX5 owners forum for about three days now with the intention of buying a 2.5 sport to commute in.

Looks great Matt. I know money is a vulgar subject but roughly how much was it?
Can I get away with saying I paid more than anyone should rationally pay for a mk1 mk5 !

Just found the advert......yikes

Still, it`s a cracker, good effort.
Indeed... It's one of those purchases where you either look back and cringe at the price, or look back and wonder how it was so cheap. (I think that day's some way off though, so for now I'm taking the 'drive and enjoy' approach)
