I'm starting to think me and mazdas are cursed.

After dropping my own mk1 eunos off for an engine change, me and a friend were on our way home in his mk3, and were at a stop on a main road waiting for someone to turn off. Unfortunately the driver coming up behind was clearly on a different planet and ran into the back of us. Pictures to follow shortly...

Here we are, not a welcome sight...

GRRR!

It was a bit of both really. Stupid woman (not blonde though...) must have come flying down the hill where we were helplessly sat in traffic, all we heard was a screech of tires and thought, scensoredt thats coming for us. And sure enough we took a whack to the back left. Wet road didnt help either. Fortunately we had a bit of distance between us and the car infront, and we had just tapped their rear bumper, tiny dint which they didnt mind about. Although the front of the '5 managed to sustain a crack so that'll have to be replaced as well.

The woman (once she'd stopped crying) said her foot slipped off the brake rolleyes and she tried avoiding us. Which she nearly did but the kerb got in her way. And im not entirely sure how long her foot must have been on the brake the speed she was going!

There's a few thousand quid of damage though. Left the house with 2 mazdas, came home with 0. Not a good day. Will be having a few beers wobble tonight...

Yeah all details passed over, my mates mazda dealer kindly offer mazda after care or something, so free tow truck (car to go to mazda bodyshop on monday to be assessed) and also offer to sort out all the insurance, so will pass all the details to them and hopefully everything will be in order.

No injuries as such (not sure why her airbag didnt go off though! - any particular speed they should explode...?). I have a bit of whiplash, starting to get a stiff neck and back now (doctors or A+E is calling tomorrow or monday) but other than that everyones fine cheers.

Nearly £7k?!! yikes I could think of worse courtesy cars!! I've never driven one, any good?
I not driven it but my mate took me for a drive in it. Its a pocket rocket in a straight line, 7.1 seconds to 60 apparently (i can believe that, it certainly doesnt hang around) but cornering at any speed is a no no, steering wheel tends to shake and you veer off into places you dont want to be. Very nice car but wouldnt have one. Very gimmicky inside too, depends what you like i suppose.

My mate has one and the steering, grip & handling is fantastic! The ride is quite stiff but I'm used to that wink
As that one is a courtesy car it's probably been abused so I wouldn't use it to base an opinion of those cars from.
Its only done 3,500 miles!!! but to be fair i'd heard good things about them, its probably the way HE's driving it laugh

Still no word about his own car, hopefully he'll hear something before the weekend.
