Thanks to those of you who recommended Wheels in Motion. I took my Mk3 there last week to have the lower springs installed and the geometry sorted out.

If anyone out there is considering this, do it. For £295, the car is now restored to its original design specification. The handling is now incredible. At higher speeds, the car is much more stable, changing direction with authority and without any tramlining. And as for bends...

The ESP light has stopped blinking all the time. So no needless power cuts.

Apart from that, the looks are much improved - it no longer rides too high.

If anyone's interested, I could try to post a pic.

Hi

I am not yet on MX5 Community, but will check it out.

I will post some pics, once I have stopped being a muppet and worked out how to do it! I am normally OK at that kind of thing, but for some reason it is not jumping out the screen at me...

Could you put a couple of pics on for me, my mate is always on about his ESP flashing away all the time, maybe something like this would sort him out!
As mentioned just now, I am useless with this pic lark. I have managed to add one pic to my profile, but it's, erm, a bit vertical. Never mind, turn your head around and you can see what the car looks like.

Is that an 'after' pic? The rear looks a bit high.
Yes, but it has settled significantly since. I will take some proper pics soon and give you a better idea of the "finished article".

Right, mastered it now.

This is taken about 200 miles after the work. WIM reckoned it would carry on settling for 250 to 300 miles. When the first pic was taken, it was indeed high at the back. Pretty quickly, the springs settled into their cups and the back dropped to the same sort of height as the front.

Hope this helps. If anyone is thinking of doing this, I am happy to answer any questions I can...

Here's one from another angle, which is possibly clearer.
