Didn't even know those box compartments were there behind the seats until I started on the youtube clips
Parts back up seems on a par with Mustangs, Minis etc, which isn't really a surprise, all good stuff.
If one was fully prepared to become an 'anal' sort of enthusiast then a Vette would fit the Bill very well. Yes, it really is possible to get perhaps 100% of all the parts you'll need for any marque of Vette. Now, this is where the 'anal' part comes-in. Do you want to replace parts of your Vette with NOS items? - not just parts that have been on the shelf somewhere for years and happen to be the right part for your specific year - I'm talking about parts that are production sequenced items that would have actually been pulled out of GM stores and fitted to your specific car during its factory build. And that is what the NCRS is all about. These parts will really 'cost' you serious, serious money but there are people who want everything as it was when the car first rolled out of the factory. Parts back up seems on a par with Mustangs, Minis etc, which isn't really a surprise, all good stuff.

AS weve said, money in the bank earns dick, and yeah 10K markup seems like theft, but theres always costs and the seller can take a bid of 5k less and still be on a earner,

Back in the ‘90s I went to the annual Mini day at Stanford Hall and looked at all the identical line up of Immaculate Mk1 Cooper Ss, all ‘factory fresh’ looking cars. One of the owners had spent £32k restoring his car and told anyone within earshot that first prize was in the bag, but he lost out to the chap next to him who’d driven his car to the show and spent less than half as much on it. Each to their own!

Gassed the Challenger up and been out for a last Hurrah , providing it all goes well, it will be 4 plus weeks before i get out again, fingers crossed it should be warming up by then,
Really pleased with my rear wing, improved down force immensely just the rims and the trunk lining/Carpet to do, the car should be complete by the End of May.
Before i delve into engine work etc im going to see if i can source another project car, my new Rifle system isn't going to now happen as the Manufacturer
Down in Portsmouth has moved the start of production to later this year, which is a bummer but does free up a lump of cash,
Almost certainly still dont have a big enough budget but hey ho...................................................................
New wheels and rifle, sounds like a expensive time ahead.

Karl Ludvigsen's book on the history of the Corvette has just arrived, my poor postie almost had a hernia delivering it....
'Star Spangled Sports Car'? Its a good read with plenty of interesting information about the cars that 'didn't' make it in to production. You might (as I did) eventually come to the conclusion that given the internal politics of GM that it was surprising that it ever got past the early 6 banger C1 model and ultimately canned in the mid 60's..........roscobbc said:

Sounds like you've narrowed your search down to a C3 ,good choice but just to confuse you i noticed a very nice 63 Falconon Car and Classic with all the right bits, 401 V8, 4 speed Auto, power rack & pinion steering, power disc brakes, headers,
colour looks similar to Audi Nardo grey, compact yank with that engine makes it a ideal sleeper and it will fit in the garage,
Just a thought .

Looks nice though, just needs a SBF fitted into it.

It says long tube headers in plural and very unusual to go to that much trouble spec wise on a 6 cylinder, did think it was unusually
large engine for a Falcon ,most having a stroked 302 at most,Shame there's no photo of engine compartment.
tempted to contact him just to find out but i don't won't to be that sad person, Thinking about it perhaps i all ready am.

As you say, ad isn't very good, combined with lack of pictures always makes me wonder if these people really want to sell these cars...!!
I had a early Falcon with the 170 cu in engine (not the same as UK Ford) I didn't even drive it - 'orrible thing with that engine. Few year later bought 'er indoors a '69 Mustang rag-top with the same engine and a 3 speed manual gearbox - we never drove that either - 'orrible also. The larger cube FoMoCo engines are seemingly quite good and potentially very tunable - Aussie's do a number of aftermarket things like ally cylinder heads.
Interesting looking Falcon - wonder what the engine actually is? AOD overdrive transmission? - upgrades to brakes too (power discs')

Related to the thread title, I’m having a small paddy this afternoon!
Just over a year ago I saw a 67 El Camino on a private ad on Car & Classic. I deliberated for too long and by the time I called about it, it was sold. £12k.
About two months later it appeared on eBay for (I think) £16k. Grrr.
Fast forward to today. I have an eBay saved search set up for Elks, and I get an email. There it is, I’m almost certain it’s the same car. Today’s price: £24,995.
I now have somewhere to store and work on things like this so I’m not going to hang about when (if!!) another bargain spot pops up.

ive had a couple of GM 6's 67' Camaro in pale yellow, with a black vinyl almost identical to a SS, 4 speed manual, drove lovely , the other was a 74 Firebird, as per the Rockford Files car, it drove perfect, even with a 3 Speed! it was better on fuel than the RS i also had at the time!
Pretty much bomb proof the motors, they looked almost identical to a 3ltr Cresta lump, a corporate thing i guess??
