That's a good haul Leigh, I like a Speyside myself.
I love a single malt......favourite is an Islay with its intense smokey flavour.....a Bowmore perhaps.......but in truth I love 'em all including the clean tasting Speyside!

hehe Maybe...

Huge split in the back, which would explain the lack of go, and the loud whooshing. New intercooler coming tomorrow.

The Firebird's in next week to have my new rear springs fitted, and yesterday a car flicked up a stone and cracked the windscreen on my BMW. £115 excess and three hours waiting for it to be fitted today. Bloody expensive month, might be on bread and water by the end! frown

It's a 1.9 PD (BRS). I've already ordered a new one, should be ready to pick up later on. Thanks though. smile

Browsing ebay as usual...

This Olds 442 looks reasonable money, comparatively speaking, if it's as good as it looks?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404375329515?hash=item5...

Then we have this 81 Trans Am 6.6. Except, 1) correct me if I'm wrong, but there was no such thing as a 6.6 in 81, and 2) this has turbo badges on the dash and boot, which gives a clue that erm, maybe it's a turbo with the 4.9... Oddly, the (useless) DVLA have it as a 6.6. Hmm.

Always though that a 442 should (as its name indicates) have a 4 speed and not an auto transmission.........

Should have a bloody roof as well....laugh

Muscle cars in period were hardly the bastion of rigidity as it was, the absurdity of then chopping the roof off of one baffles the hell out of me......even more so, that they are now seen as more desirable. banghead

A convertible version of a 'muscle car' just doesn't have the same 'ethos' as a 2 door coupe.......similar really to a 4 door car (even 4 door hardtop/pillarless) they just don't make the grade IMHO. Nothing wrong with convertibles - some nice ones out there (as cruisers........) - same with Vettes really, even an early C1 looks better with its hard top on!

I've been preoccupied with a recent family members illness and subsequent passing.....then a major stomach bug......those who have enquiring finds for the more unusual motoring stories might find this interesting.........and way off topic

No doubt some of us have also read about or even seen some of the large capacity (usually ex-aero engined) race cars from the early part of the last century.
I picked up on these interesting cars (Christie 20 litre V4 GP racer) made from scratch in America by John Walter Christie . The first, second and third follow-up models make quite an interesting read about one person determination to follow his dream - if you like that sort of thing.

My Fireturd is in the garage on day 2 of the rear spring install. Unsurprisingly it hasn't been plain sailing and besides realising that I was driving a potential deathtrap (old rear springs utterly shagged and basically fell apart, offside spring/shock plate rusted through), it's also apparent that stuff you buy from the US that is specifically for your car doesn't actually fit. Not looking forward to the bill, but am looking forward to a car that hopefully drives a load better and won't kill me. hehe

As one gets older doctors and hospitals definitely feature more in one’s world,
We’ve just got back from Dover as my Wife has a MIR scan on her spine this morning,

Obviously I took the day off , drove her, then took her out to a very nice lunch,
Got to make the most of every minute!!!!
