There are plenty of threads around showing people using Lizard Skin or Reflectix allumised heat (and sound) insulation.
Meh, having your back sweating on a black vinyl seat while your right shin is cooking against the transmission tunnel is all part of the fun isn't it? Harry Flashman said:
Also spoke to the lovely man at RPM, who built it. It is indeed a clone, so has no intrinsically high value as original. He's retiring, else he would have loved to have had it back for servicing.
I thought Martin's son would be continuing the business, as I thought he was working on the tools with his Dad already within RPM?LeighW said:

Even managed to park in a space not that much bigger and only a little bit embarrassing, still a chore though
The joys of betty swollox syndrome in a late 60's or early 70's era vinyl seats car........
Its a memory from childhood in summer wearing short trousers, having to get into Dad's car onto burning vinyl seats.....and I won't it to be only a distant memory, and isn't to be revisited in old age

Hemi Cuda convertible, the grail from all accounts,
But for me a Hard top all day long ,
Either way we’re talking one Mill +++

Even they aren't the most rigid of structures, so what a floppy chassis vert would be like with an Elephant motor installed beggers belief, so I have no idea why soppy septics regard them as grail motors, other than rarity of course, but, they are rare because thankfully there wasn't enough soppy septics around when they were new to think it was a good idea to order one
Glad we're agreed on the sweaty aris being part of the fun.
At the risk of being called a heretic, I've got to say I'm not a big fan of the Cuda tbh.
Anyhoo, I made the most of a break in this crappy weather and took my Fireturd™ out for a spin tonight. Now I have rear springs that actually have some spring in them I've messed about with reducing the pressure in the air shocks. It's all relative, but it rides really well now. I've got some new gas shocks, so I think I'll get rid of the air shocks altogether when I get time. Even though these springs are supposed to be 1.5" lower than standard, it sits quite high and there's plenty of clearance over the rear tyres so I shouldn't get any arch to tyre issues anymore.
Just when I was on my way back, I stopped at a T junction and there was a young lad on a bike giving me a big grin and a wave. I gave him a thumbs up and hoofed it out of the junction and treated him to a one tyre fryer special I looked back through the smoke and he was jumping up and down punching the air. Bit childish I know, but he loved it.
Took a few phone pics as well. Lovely evening for it.

He'll likely remember that for years to come, just like me from seeing and hearing that Cobra being given the big one not far from the old AC factory in Thames Ditton back in the late 60's, which was the first proper V8 I'd ever heard, and had me hooked for the rest of my life....
