Had a look briefly through your build thread ,like you not skilled enough to undertake a build like this ,I always envy people who can ,part of the enjoyment of owning these types of cars,
Recognised your TVR straight away what with the colour the rare detachable hard top but can't remember where from.
You certainly got on with it once you made your mind up both in the way you bought it and ignoring most of what you told yourself
and getting on with your build, a heart ruling head moment but it's worked,
Looks bloody fantastic , bet you can't wait for some decent weather to go out and play,
Thanks both!
NaT - I’ve told myself that I must drive it and not just look at it!!
I’ve actually booked into a few shows..plus I’m waiting to hear about the Shere hill climb.
RR - trying not to think too much as the car won’t be finished until early June..so fingers crossed for the weather..flaming June would be nice for once!

Jon hasn't posted on here for a long time, so I'm not sure you'll get an answer to that as the rest of us won't have to time to trawl back through pages and pages of this thread to find the post you've quoted to see if we can remember. Sorry.
Thanks. That was the post I was referring to. Been trying to track this car history before 2000's. LeighW said:

Hopefully the links work, the PH forum thinks part of the first link is a emoji for some reason.

Agreed !Another Asian fit where they touch rubbish sheet metal!
Kinda hoping Dyancorn jobbies are of less dubious quality
Also hoping to get out early this afternoon and shoot over and have a poke around on my local TA?
Trouble is it’s half term and one of our busiest
Couple of weeks,
So may have to wait till Saturday,
Yep never made it !
As ever work still gets in the way!!!
I must admit the thought of another full blown restoration is weighing on me,
Looking at the ridiculous logistical costs of imported parts
Especially body panels etc,
I’ll certainly have to look at the cheaper options like aero mentioned , but it’s going to be nerve racking worrying about my bonnet and quarters etc
But as my wife’s pointed out a couple of times, once I’m retired the restoration won’t be competing with a day to day work load,
Theoretically I should able to sail through the resto !!
Ummmm
Factor in if I brought something that was done
I could be using it this summer!!!
Still I shouldn’t whinge , at least I’ve a dilemma
That hopefully will result in something rather nice sitting in my drive at some point!

Well, that choice is all down to cost.I could be using it this summer!!!

If the resto could be more expensive, or even same cost or less, than buying something this summer, I have to admit, I'd be buying and driving, rather than buying and restoring......
However, I get that a manual Ram Air bull-nose T/A is a bucket list item which must be factored into that choice.....
Big old first gen Charger at £27k...

Big old '68 Chrysler 300 was on last year for around £20k, back on now at £28k...

I’m going to give it a poke tomorrow now
Need to get it surveyed as soon as !
Then I may be able to concentrate and make the decision
As my heart is saying TA and my head is saying Camaro!!
I genuinely believe I can do the TA justice and save an important motor , and finally after 50 years
Own the car that’s deluded me seemingly forever !!
Am re-posting this on this thread, as some on here might not have seen it elsewhere on PH......
This is the Spa 24hrs from 1974, with the Capri 3.0 of John Fitzpatrick and Tom Walkinshaw scampering off 2nd place on the grid into the lead at the start......
But, someone posted a link to the entry list/results, and that '69 Ford Mustang to the Capri's right, which was sitting on pole position, isn't a Boss 302 as you expect, but it was a 428SCJ......
It's pole time was 4sec faster than the 2nd place Fitzpatrick/Walkinshaw Capri.....!!
But, it failed to finish the race......after breaking a kingpin.......oh what a surprise
Coming down that hill and going through the dip at Eau Rouge in a big-block Mustang must have been entertaining
And yes, just behind the Mustang, that is a '70 Plymouth Hemi Cuda.......
Qualified 4th on the grid, but also didn't finish the race, although, that may have been a driver illness related issue from the results, although that could be a translation inaccuracy.
Who says muscle cars can't go around corners
