Amortisation. Presumably the sheer physical numbers sold of respective models sold on an annual basis would cover tooling costs. Still amazing to think about it if you allow for differing engines, trim levels and significantly body styles - which could comprise, 4 door sedan. 4 door hardtop. 2 door 'formal' hardtop. 2 door 'fastback' coupe. 2 door convertible. 2 door station wagon. 4 door station wagon. 2 door car based 'pick-up'.
Add on that at least 3 different trim levels, all with different chrome and stainless trims designs and shapes, and different interior designs.
I remember way back in the late 70's as a teenager, getting a copy of the, then bible book on the Tri-Five Chevy's for Xmas one year and I was astounded at all the options and trims variations across the versions, along with all the body styles, compared to what we had in UK at that time. That was the first time I became truly aware of the enormity of the US car design and model year changes of that era.

Even back in 1932 (why I have I picked that year I wonder laugh) there were 14 variations of body style for the '32 Ford and that didn't include the pick-ups and sedan deliveries and trucks!!

It's taken UK and European (and far eastern) marketing people many years to catch on to the concept of offering multiple options for what is basically the same item. Try and buy a toaster, or kettle, perhaps hairdrier and you will be bombarded with identical options from multiple manufacturers, probably all priced the same - how do you choose? - do you have the time to choose?

Nah not my style , im no Mickey Thompson but do like to keep up with traffic !
Cant be arsed to creep around a roundabout, i use my cars, for a large old barge it handles pretty well, well it did! i'l just refit me Ralley's for the time being,

Only 4 times in all the years ive messed about with these, have i changed wheels/tyres etc, everytime its been a drama!
lol..............................................................................................
Is it the back that touches or the front as well on lock,

This is not what want to hear but if it's just the back would it be worth buying 225"s or 235"s ,rather than have to do work

on the car again ,scratchchin or nono or is there a bigger problem,

Yeah apologies for yesterday! just a bit of a Mare, finally felt good enough to do the swap, as its pretty though when part of ones body dont work to good!
My brief to NH was Wheels and tyre combo that absolutely wont fail or touch anywhere, the guy can back with the recommended spec so i went with that.
235/60/15's front 245/60/15's rear 8x15 wheels all round , now these are huge when compared to what i removed! much much wider, however im pretty sure its just the rears that are touching, may well be body/axle problems, these cars were thrown together when they were made, and sometimes can be a full inch out from side to side!
Dont think the fronts touch, i done the normal lock to lock, and spin tests, but one cant mimic actual road use with it all going up and down etc.

225's and 235's on 7 x15 probably is what he should have recommended, but i cant help thinking i was guided to what was in stock ???
Dont really want to pay out the thick end of another 400 quid for two more boots ffs, so ive no choice i'l have to make them fit,

Ones of the reasons ive put this off for so long, its always a drama.......................

Did you see the 'race spec' S type Jag? another wtf moment!
Was that the white one that appeared in an episode of Blue Peter when the presenter took part on a classic race at Sillystone 40 odd years ago?
Maroon with full roll cage - a bit tatty and battered.........

I seem to remember those wheels 'from the dawn of time' - J A Pearce Magna's ?
Now I've looked at it aganin I quite like it!

Ye no point having a trailer queen as a race car,i'd be to busy polishing it and miss the start of the race,

plus if you fall off the black stuff a few times it doesn't matter so much . tank

Got a ex/race car i've had for 26 years, that's longer than both my 2 ex/wives and girlfriend lasted,

old war horse nicely battle scared ,keep meaning to paint it but prefer it

as it is, more fun, leave it parked in places you wouldn't normally and i don't have to polish it, nono

and survived 2 divorces , Just !

All this drama with all this ,plus a new knee not helping matters either ,

Probably not but suppose no chance of them swapping your 245's for 235's if you point out it was partly

their fault giving you the wrong advise, banghead

Didn't realize there was such a choice of body's, suppose living here we only see a small percentage of 32's

unlike at the shows in the States there would be a vast variety of them.

Difficult when things go wrong and think straight when not feeling 100% ,

Go back to it when fresh in brain,

Your right does fill those arches up well but you need to be comfortable with the way it drives,

A third C3 Vette coming up on " The Market" , Red 71 split roof Auto,

Looks ok on photo's and sensible estimate ,£15K-£19K,

The high mileage C5 that sold at Barons for £11,825 is now on E-Bay for £15,750,

Not being greedy considering he's got to give a waranty and may have to take a p/ex,

What was aeropilot saying "like buses" , Those colours just don't work togethernono, not for me anyway,

The one on Car & Classic is a Diamond Jubilee in a beautiful silver blue but at £23K

is more than double the price of the gold car,

Said before the auction buyers don't seem to like yanks especially something as outrageous as a Lincoln.

If bought by the trade it will probably pop up somewhere for £20K , not many buyers out there for them

so might as well be cheeky.

PS just noticed the silver blue Lincoln is also on E-Bay

You'll see a number of C5's and early C6's 'languish' if they are either too expensive or high mileage - or both. A 2007 LS2 C6 unless ultra low mileage, very cheap (or the potential buyer is ignorant) will also 'hang around' in favour of a 2008 C6 onwards which was fitted with the LS3 power plant.

That C3's had a lot on money spent in 2018 but dosen't seem to show. Engine looks like its a later lump of heads have been changed. Its had a whack on the front drivers side - hood fits badly - rattle can paint touch-ups. Interior looks reasonable - images are good, show all the imperfection on body etc.
