Just been looking at the Mecum auction in Kansas, nothing particularly outstanding, a few half decent looking cars at around $20K ,
Prices seemed to be down, but given the time of year, covid, and Trump, i suppose its about right !Bored with looking now, just over priced pooh on this side of the pond!

Im back on Furlough again , so pretty much a 3 day week, hopefully the clay grounds will open next week, shoot
And weather permitting we'l be in the Dodge,

OH MY GOD !!!!! Have to agree with you , what a great colour, There is a Hemi engined Super Bee on "Car and Classic"
in the same or similar colour ,ref C1082081 if any interest, ex race car now on the road, big old thing for the track but looks
well sorted.

Not done anything regards cars ,would rather get this particular car's service history sorted and gone before i add if possible ,unless
i have to make a decision if the owner of the T/A decides to advertise it before hand.

Sounds like you are going to have plenty of time on your hands so a drive down to the shooting range in the Challenger sounds a
perfect way to spend the day.

I don't know how they can sell and deliver for that price and still come out with a profit regards the rev counter, we just pay
through the nose in this country, should report the government to the trading standards for putting the Great into Britain.

Just herd on the local news that 4 Albanian drug dealers were sent to prison today for trying to steal drugs from another drug
dealer ,they got caught when neighbours herd shots, one was found dead face down in the river in the morning ,
Nobody's been charged with that ,I suppose the police think one less to worry about,
Not in north London or Manchester but a quiet residential weepy willow lined river bank village environment not to far from me,

Fcensoredd Britain would be more a appropriate.

Sorry having one of my hut on the beach moments again.

A hut on a beach sounds just fine, West Indies? lol............................

I looked at the Hemi Bee a few years ago, its a composed machine, lots of race prep, got a late Stage 3 ish Hemi, a dealer in surrey had the car for sale, 22k from memory ??
Not really a road car, far to precocious to use for shopping laugh
Reminded of a 440-6 69 Roadrunner, LiL 440 , a quick car without doubt, but a complete mare to actually use, no pas no brakes, column change reverse pattern trans, hopeless for road use, great looking car but i walked away !

The dark days, and my knee has put paid to my quest for another project, i'l take the Dodge to the next level, but do it in my own time,
Plus it will free up some cash for my new Rifle laugh

And Rural Gangsters , the mind boggles, may ear mark a few quid for a Winchester Pump laugh

Not quite West Indies, more Milford on Sea, Had the beach hut for quite a few years now, handy when you got 3 kids, now grown up
but now replaced with 2 grandchildren, Often wish i could transport it somewhere hot and sunny, especially when sheltering from the
rain in the middle of July. rolleyes

Sexy car that Super Bee but as you said with lack of power steering and brakes, hairy cam and if still fitted with a small bag tank and
rock solid suspension will be nightmare on the road, but nice to drive to the track and have some fun and bring it home in one piece
without involving a 4x4 and trailer. Ok for a quick blast around the lanes though.

Ye best forget about a project before your knee is sorted unless so good or cheap not to pass up .
Concentrate on taking the Challenger to the next level, will be exciting watching your progress even with current climate ,will
put a smile on your face and be ready for the coming season.

Let me know when you are buying your new rifle and i will come come with you and buy that Winchester pump ,looks like a might need it,
Thought we were safe in the sticks but becoming like the wild west, what with Romanian drug dealers , What next Russian Mafia . shoot

Mainly just pass though Kent ,my Falcon came from just outside of Caterham and going just passed Maidstone to collect parts from Kent High performance Cars near Leeds castle and found it very rural so surprised to hear the whole of Kent is on tear 3 when London is on tear 2.

Think there will be a riot if they close down London again ,too much money being made there and the big business people are all
pales of the politicians.

I understand why almost all the north is closed down but still very unfair, they are a lot more sociable than we are in the south
and seem to like to party hard judging what i've seen on when i've been on holiday , and that's going to cause major virus problems in and around Christmas.

Hope this doesn't effect you more than it already has. If so you you are more than welcome to move into my hut. bandit

Have noticed that apart from the Silverstone auction things have slowed down a little with the same old cars going unsold .
May give you a chance to sneak in a cheeky bid.

Now got all 3 major towns that i've got to visit when we get out of this lock down next week. They are all under tear 3, not sure how that effects me for travel or even if the garages are even going to be open. Also got parts for the same car on back order with the factory in Italy ,it is as good as closed with just a skeleton staff so yet another delay there.

Do you think there is a invisible force working against us sometimes.

I'm currently on the look out for a Chevy C-10, but they are like hens teeth on this side of the Atlantic and those that are available are a touch pricey. I don't mind paying for the right pick up, but even those at the lower end seem to have increased dramatically in price.
Ideally I'd like one that has been restored, I'm not too bothered about the body work, a nice bit of patina is fine as long as the truck and chassis are solid.
If anyone knows anyone selling one, let me know. I may also consider an older ford, but the Chevy is my preference.

In an Ideal world I'd travel to the US, buy one and make a road trip out of it and bring it to the east coast for shipping at the minute, obviously thats not possible right not, but I'm not comfortable transferring what will be a substantial amount of money to someone in the US without having seen the truck in the flesh.

All yanks have got pricey, but so has everything else! lol..............................
Trucks and Pickups are still sort of cheap to buy State Side, so a lot of them have found there way here , but as with all things they are now pushing 20K for something supposedly nice,

Later vehicles are less, but obviously will require MOT's etc, road Tax bah bah ...............................
Deffo drive or at least get a ride before you buy! some drive unbelievably terrible,
A mate of mine has a 84 ish GMC Z71, stepside, 350 injected, 5 speed manual , drives great and has epic road presence,
He's hoping to relocate in the US early next year ??? i'l try and buy it from him laugh

I think you are wright, always seem to be heading for somewhere when in Kent ,Huge county whether a hour to Caterham Cars or heading for Dover,Don't know if Caterham Cars even got a showroom there any more, delivered my Road Runner to Medway and used to see Alan Carrington when he was in Gasoline Alley at Wroughton, Don't know what you done to deserve a tear 3, got a feeling the government may be doing a u turn on this with what's going on at the moment.

Weather was crap here today ,dull overcast all day but had to baby sit one of the animals as he's lost his sight about 3 days ago
so can't leave him alone, same again tomorrow as my son's working the whole weekend.
next drive will be to the vet again.

Just love the positive interest in these yanks if not in a hurry, meet some nice people , seem happy to see the cars with no animosity unlike
some of the cars i've owned, a finger or the wcensoredr sign instead of a friendly wave.

Ye being obsessed with American and Italian cars the Pantera is the perfect mix, sort of a Italian Hot Rod with no silly servicing
schedules or bills. really regret selling the 2 i had but there was always the next one on the wish list.

I think the way forward for me is to go backwards and to revisit some of cars i regretted selling years ago ,only problem is getting my head around the inflated value now compared to then.

Funny you came up with the Iso Grifo ,my dad's friend had 2, a early car with the 327 and a face lifted 7 litre with a strange square bonnet
power bulge ,remember getting a passenger ride in the 7 litre one when i was a teenager, Alan Carrington had one as well ,he still may
have it as it was in bits last time i saw it.

Reminds me Alan had a Miura as well, paid £40k for it in several box's ,restored it in his own workshop and ended up owing him
a £100k ,couldn't sell it at the time and ended up swapping it for 3 cars and a bit of cash

Probably worth a million and a half now ,at least it's one of his regrets not mine .
Almost like having the winning lotto ticket and losing it.

Back to reality my guilty pleasure is yanks and Italian stuff ,they seem to complement each other, one with basic tractor mechanics against
sometimes unnecessarily complex European sophistication .

It's like a incurable disease that won't go away , given up trying now at my age, Don't drink or smoke and to old to chase woman ,not so much a yummy mummy more a yummy granny so got 4 Italian 's in the shed instead , One i've had for 31 years, another 26 years and the other 2 around 3 and 5 years ,

The one i need to get the service history together and want to sell is a German in a Italian dress ,unfortunately not a Miura but the poor relation to it . A Gen 1 Gallardo with the gated manual , nice size car handles like a Caterham round the lanes but i now have to park it somewhere quiet as it takes me half an hour to get out of it so don't need to draw a crowd watching me crawling out on all fours.

Would rather put the money into a classic yank and maybe a track focused British classic . Something i could do the odd track day at Goodwood if i can still see my round there.

Could end up with anything as brain is all over the place ,nothing changed there then.

PS ,Don't know why the sentences are all over the place, they are ok on the posting, tried to edit them but still the same,

Just to make us all a little sick about current 'classic' prices I've been thinking about the prices I once paid for vehicles that are now significantly more pricey than back then. 1969 - 2 owner 50K mile Mk 9 Jag £35. A whole mix of cars priced between £8 and £35, including Mk 1, 2, 3 Zephyrs, Zodiac's & Consuls, plus Minx's and other 'nothing' cars. Roll on early/mid/late 70's and 2 owner 1965 Daimler V8 (expensive then at £375) 1968 (and only 5 years old) Rambler Javelin £385. 1965 4 door Galaxie £325, '66 Galaxie 7 Litre coupe (428 and 4 speed) 400. Very early 80's and 100% stock saturday night special '71 Mustang 429 SCJ £2000. Those were the days........the prices asked were affordable 'for the day' - Italian exotica like Iso's (unless something odd like Lele's) were not really affordable unless basket cases.

Like the sound of that 66 Galaxie manual 7 litre and the 429SCJ for £2k, perhaps it's worth giving him a call ,he may still have it.

Remember bombing through the New Forest in a MK9 when i was 18,

Bought my first sports car when i was 19, MG A for £150, graduated to a big Healey for £225,
followed by a taxed and tested E Type for £480 , Aston Martin DB4 with a suspect clutch for £750,turned out to be a slave cylinder.
Not one but two DB 6's both for under £5k ,could go on and on .

Paid £21k for my first house and my weekly wage was £35 if i worked a Saterday puts it all in perspective though..

No mobiles, computers and woman actually noticed i was there.rolleyes

Yes please ! Was watching a You Tube with Leslie Phillips being re-united in 2010 with the Bentley 3 litre that was used in the 1962
film " The Fast Lady" ,He said he could have bought it after filming was over for what the Film company paid for it.£ 500,
He said no as he was to busy looking at Julie Christie. Thought that was lovely. I say ! Ding dong !

Leslie Phillips and Terry Thomas, two of my favourite quintessential lovable English scoundrels.

Won't see the likes of them again.
