Cool, im not up with whats on the tele !.
Indy Auto do loads of Hemi motors, most are late stage 3 types, from 500HP to 1300HP!
Second Gen Hemi's circa 66/67-71 ish make huge money

Its the Holy grail thing, A Max Wedge 426 is another, a built 440 will make big HP, at a fraction of the cost ,
I'd love one in mine, but the little 340 throws my car very well.................

All these big money cars are way out of my league, but one can dream ............................

Not boasting but i have driven yanks for years, from 60's/70's muscle cars to 59 Cadillac's Belair's over a 100 , before the investors got in on them they were the best kept secret , I started at the bottom with £1k/£2 Camaro's, Trans am's to the very best high end cars, What you got to remember is that nobody wanted them and often looked down on by the european performance car drivers, Now because they have become fashionable by pop video's, adverts and the hero of the film now drives s muscle car instead of a Ferrari along with all the American Hot Rod programmes now on our tv which was unheard of years ago. All goes to fuel the market .Sold my Bullitt Mustang to very nice guy who was buying it for his wife ,When i asked him did he have any other classic's he said yes this will join my Dino, E type, 2 Aston Martin's and Derby Bentley and that's what's happened being sold to bankers ,investors in the city people who wouldn't give me the time of day when i drove my 4k Mustang fastback not that many years ago, All i can say is you can have as much fun in a cheap yank as in a expensive one,buy what you can afford and it will still give you the same drama ,theatre as long as you got a V8 with a decent exhaust and must be l.h.d for the full effect. go and do it you wont regret it.

'American Graffiti' always comes to mind when I see those early Thunderbirds...

Oh yeah...... the lovely Suzanne Somers cloud9

Probably another reason that early T-Birds have been considered for past 45 years as a 'girls car' and thus not the same value as C1 vettes.
Having owned 55 t/bird,60 squarebird and a 66 t/bird Thelma and Louise convertible l don't think i would ever call them girls cars, definitely cruisers rather than muscle. i don't think there are many girly types of girls who can drive these cars or any other older yanks for that matter especially the 55 i owned with it's 1955 steering, brakes and suspension i doubt if most girls would make the first corner without having a accident. I have friends who have been in the American /Hot Rod scene for years who's wifes and girlfriends drive their American cars,Hot Rods and pickups and sometimes own their own so not saying all girls just most ,

A quick O/T diversion gents if you don't mind, thought I'd ask in here as you all seem to know your yank stuff - this is a grab from the 'My Rod' youtube channel and I was wondering about the hubcaps on this Camaro, am I right in thinking they're exactly the same as the mid '60s Mustang variety used with 14'' factory fitted steel wheels...?

I don't think I've ever seen them on a Camaro before but I like the 'Matchbox toy' look of them.

Rat rod - thumbs up to your reply at 17.38 today... wink

They look like '68 Shelby Mustang hub caps.

Lovely.

Can't say I've noticed those vents just in front of the rear wheels before on a chally.

True, pretty epic.

There's a great vid on You Tube, of a guy in a 69 Z28, seriously getting on it on a nice back road somewhere, a howling solid lifer 302 and a M22 is still very hard to beat.

Fabulous looking car the 69' easily the best looking of all the gen1 cars,
