This old bucket is a complete turd,

2+2 or a FHC?

If its a 2+2 in that state, its probably not worth even half of that, given the tumbling of prices for E-Types in the past couple of years....they've pretty much halved in value since peak price for E's.

Yep a 2+2 !
30k tops ,
If he keeps it much longer 15k loser

I must be a money thing , if you never need to sell stuff to go again I wonder if a smuggest vibe is around?

Easy to loose sight of what’s going on if it doesn’t effect you!
Lucky sod !

My mate's grandad had a Regal when we were kids. He came out of his house one morning to find the local scallies had tipped it on it's roof. hehe
He rolled it back onto its wheels and carried on, it was just a bit scratched and some oil had come out...

I had a mate who worked for BT he only had a bike license so after getting soaked winter after winter he brought a Bond Bug, which apparently he could have !
He must have rolled that thing multiple times ,
He hand painted it with black hammerite
Put gold pin stripes on it , Instantly turning it to a JPS !
biglaugh

Should have taken far more pics !

You can still buy tetraethyl lead additive, I use it

It will also be far more affordable on fuel, 25mpg would almost half my petrol costs, i genuinely believe its adapt or die!
I love the American Motors, have done for over 40 years, but 9 quid a gallon is time to stop..................... for me anyway.
My mate in Cali has just texted me to say that gas prices in LA area have just hit $8 per gallon and $9 gal for diesel.

That's close to UK price levels, as $8 for a US gal is about $2.10 per litre, which is £1.66/litre at current exchange rate.
Never seen US gas prices so close to UK prices before!!

I wonder what duty they pay on fuel in California? Here it's 52p per litre, then there's 20% VAT (there's VAT on the duty as well - a tax on a tax, wonderful.)

My Firebird's parked up, going into the garage next week for various bits and bobs. Saving me a fortune in petrol. winkcry

He said tax % is not far off what it is in UK.
Its actually 57.95p per litre not 52p, and as you say, 20% VAT added to that as well, which as you say is an utter fecking joke.

It's 52p, they cut it by 5p, although apparently only 2p of that cut was passed on by the fuel companies.

Those fuel prices must hurt more in the US, generally lower mpg vehicles and greater mileage done. Crazy when they have so much in the ground.

This old bucket is a complete turd,
My boss still thinks it’s 70k ‘s worth

My latest mission should I choose to accept it
Try and free off a partial seized clutch fulcrum!
Without taking it apart wavey

The boss almost had a heart attack when I told him the motor has to come out !
Then we need to fit a complete clutch, and we had better fit a new starter motor at the same time ,

This is the side you don’t see on the tele or in the glossy magazines
Lovely
Have you seen how many pages of E Types that are for sale on C&C,

Hundreds and hundreds of them yes

Would love another series one fhc or roadster but all are at inflated prices still.

It's been the case for a couple of years RR, endless E-Type ads with the asking prices going up every other month or so. It's the same with Minis too, although they're spread about a bit more as they're advertised under Austin, BL, Morris, Mini, Leyland and Rover. Lots of choice but lots of dross too.

The Italian stuff on c&c has gone a bit bonkers too with bog standard Fiat 500s at Mini Cooper S prices etc, but in amongst them are some very tasty rare Lancias and Maseratis which (to me) appear to be on the money. Time will tell of course!

The bodyshop round the corner from my workplace (the one with two of the lads owning early C3 'vettes) has a large '50s yank two door convertible inside up on the ramp, couldn't make out what it is as I was driving past but it'll be there for a while so it'll see daylight eventually.

Just spotted on C&C a stunning 61 Alfa 2000 touring spyder on Webbers , looks more Maserati than Alfa,

set off by brand new Borrani chrome wire wheels, £84,495 ,the price of a scruffy E Type roadster

and a fraction of the Masa equivalent. Very Le Dolce Vita smokin
