Remembering borrowing my surfer mates Ram SRT 10 with a lift kit ,completely destroyed the handling ,
but when overtaking one of the latest new Range Rover's on the M27 i found myself looking down at the
occupants much to their displeasure ,being lelt hand drive of course i felt like tapping on their roof , .

A lot less exciting than what's recently been posted, but I just picked this up. It’s a 2014 Lincoln MKZ 3.7 V6 with 20k miles and 1 previous owner.

Never really thought about getting one before, but I was offered this by a family member for the equivalent of around 8500USD so couldn't say no.
Be interesting to hear more about it - damn sight more interesting than your boggo BMAudi![](https://thumbsnap.com/sc/vCHjpYBb.jpg)

Thanks! It's basically a Ford Fusion, so a MK5 Ford Mondeo. This particular one was ordered with a lot of options, so it has radar guided cruise, collision avoidance, THX stereo, self parking, panoramic roof, heated and cooled seats, and a load of other stuff I've probably forgotten. It's not particularly exciting to drive, but it drives well in the way that most Ford sedans / hatchbacks do. I bought it mainly because it was cheap, and I know the previous owner barely used it. My only plans are to remove the limiter and upgrade the infotainment from sync 2 to sync 3 so that I can have Apple Carplay etc, but neither of those things will happen for a while as we just finished building a house and I shouldn't be spending money on non-essential things for the moment.roscobbc said:
There's been a few 'new' (delivery mileage and last year models) ones of these for sale recently - really cheap compared with euro stuff (but still significantly more expensive than yours)
Yes, they're definitely a lot cheaper than your usual BMW / Mercedes etc. Having said that, prices are crazy right now in the US and I've seen similar ones to mine go for around 20k USD, which seems insane to me. It's a nice car, but it's not that nice.Mikebentley said:
Geekman are you experiencing the high used prices that we are now seeing in the UK?
on the Challenger sites they are saying that prices for 2014+ are going mad. Some fella was asked by a dealer to sell his 2015 to them a month or 2 back got nearly what he paid for it newETA - the Challenger sites are talking purely about US pricing

Not really, or at least not to the same extent. I’ve noticed that some US market stuff like late 2000s Escalades and Yukons have gone up a bit, but older euro stuff is still cheap as everyone knows it’s not that easy to maintain them here. There is definitely a longer lead time on new cars, but that doesn’t seem to be forcing people into used ones, they’re just sticking with what they have. The kind of people who buy new cars here will almost never consider a used car, even 1-2 years old from a main dealer.
For those following the saga of my El Camino - after 3 months, DVLA have finally managed to fill in half the logbook details (literally just Make, engine size and number of seats) and issue me with a registration.
The hilarious part is, after initially rejecting my application due to an incorrect digit in the chassis number on the NOVA form, they've now issued the logbook based on that same incorrect number.

just an aside - you sure you want to be showing your details in your post (name and address)? The hilarious part is, after initially rejecting my application due to an incorrect digit in the chassis number on the NOVA form, they've now issued the logbook based on that same incorrect number.

Nice looking car, Ade, got details/photos?
Roadtoad, how is the El Camino treating you?
It's still an expensive garden ornament at the moment. All road legal now, but having carb trouble. Awaiting a replacement float as it's flooding and i suspect the original has gone porous. If it's not that, I'll hand it over to someone that knows what they're doing! Roadtoad, how is the El Camino treating you?

Was a bucket-list car. Did a deal with my '48 Cadillac, and will be a keeper. It's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Not matching-numbers, but all the bits are there. Need to check the engine. It's rumoured to be a 455, but until I can access the casting numbers etc. I can't be sure.
The brakes are utterly appalling, so I'm considering converting to discs. However, it has Kelsey Hayes 8-lug hubs and rims which are both flawless and rare. so to convert would also mean new wheels and tyres, so a bit more research is needed. And it looks sooo good on the KH's.

Great looking car - I like those mid-late 60's fastbacks. Someone put a boosted twin circuit disc set up on my 66 impala which works nicely, but as you say, it's got 8 lugs...
You might be able to find better linings for the shoes? If there's a racing class in the US for those cars or similar you might find a better shoe, metallic or something? There's probably a forum that could help.
