Mustang... 5.0 litre... all over for Camaro!
Do you have a pirate game? No.
I'll wait....
Wonder if, when they bring in the 5.0, they'll make the 4.6 the base engine to compete with the Camaro's 300hp 3.6 or will they make the 5.0 a higher scale model like the Challenger RT.

The more I see the Camaro... the more I don't want it.
You can easily add power to the Mustang, but you can't easily shed weight from the Camaro.
I'll stick with my Pony ta
I'm a long way short of being convinced by this argument. The Mustang can make do with less by being lighter to start with. Adding a supercharger adds weight and raises the CofG. More power generally requires bigger and heavier wheels, brakes and tyres which the Camaro already has.You can easily add power to the Mustang, but you can't easily shed weight from the Camaro.

The GT500 proves the point and weighs more than the Camaro, coming with Brembos and a 6 speed transmission. Of course, Ford could make a blown GT but, for whatever reason and one only Ford can answer, they don't.
The other downside of this claim is that a good blower adds about $5000 to the cost of the Mustang GT which would make it about $2000 more than the Camaro SS and $3400 with the Track pack.
So the fact is that every car here is a compromise built to a price and any one of them can have power added and it's the overall cost that is the clincher.
Details are scant but it's dubbed Coyote, will debut in the F150, is rumoured to have 400hp and the last link is a spy photo

It is believed that this engine will replace the 5.4 litre in the GT500 in blown form and if you "do the math", you'll see the Mustang, being lighter, needs less than 400hp to match the Camaro's power to weight ratio but much depends on the weight of the engine. Whatever, you'll have to wait until at least 2014 for an all-new Mustang with IRS.
