Best watch up to £2000

Yep, it's my first post for ages!
Have a long service award from work of £1250 & am happy to add up to £750 of my own cash. Not materialistic in the slightest & cannot think of anything other than a watch to be a lasting memory of my 25 year sentence...
I am thinking of a bracelet rather than a strap, not too bothered about potential for increase in value (it'll be a momento) & won't be a daily (I'm quite happy with my Samsung smart watch for this role). Have looked at secondhand websites & am confused as to whether they offer good value. Have been looking at TAG-Heuer because the design appeals
Have been lurking on this forum for a few weeks & am impressed by the knowledge & opinions expressed.
Time to seek your advice - pictures & web links would be appreciated! Help me spend my boss's cash, please...

Could be worth considering a ML Aikon? Well under budget, in fact just a smidge over your award amount without any haggling. Dressy enough to not be a daily watch and feel special yet not too delicate to go with jeans and a t shirt. And the bracelet looks great to me.

If you’re looking for something as a momento that “feels” special on a bracelet, you can get hold of Rolex Oysterdate Precision’s for £2k and under. They are quality without being obvious.
If your wrists are large I’d be looking at a second had Tudor black bay.
I’ve got both and can recommend them.

Thank you all for your advice (& to one for their congratulations!). There's some great looking kit.
Keep the ideas coming, I'm in no rush to make up my mind & left field suggestions are also welcome. Perhaps I shouldn't limit myself to a bracelet either.
Given the 10pm curfew it means that I won't have a sore head on Saturday and Sunday mornings so will see what you come up with. Are there any online or high street sellers (I'm in Clevedon if anyone can suggest a decent independent in the south west, always prefer to buy away from chains) that you would particularly recommend?
There has mention on this & other threads of negotiation on price - what is 'normal'? 10%? I don't want to pay over the odds nor to insult a vendor in the current climate.
Thanks again!

I'd look at the NOMOS Glashütte watches. For around £2000, you possibly could get one with their in-house Neomatik movement.

Watches of Switzerland have the Ludwig for £2015, which is 20% off. There are a few other models above and below your price range.

Fantastic watches, and beautiful. Their retail price has been climbing steadily so maybe not the value they once were but its not going to be long before you can't get them for near 2k. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/nomos-glashutte-...

I've been tempted by a Sinn for a while and have managed to resist so far. If you buy one, maybe I won't have to? Loads of their non-chronograph watches available under £2k but my favourite 144 St Sa actually squeaks under budget:
Controversial watch next - Ball. Occasionally some of their model line is on sale with very deep discounts but never the Diver that I waited two years for. I ended up buying second hand and I love it. Built like a tank and their party piece is they come with radioactive glowing tritium tubes instead of the usual paint. This means if you need to check the time a 4am, when you need a glowing watch, it's still glowing!

Some excellent suggestions above. I will add my standard recommendation in this price range, which is Farer:

if you like the styling, you will also find that they are really nicely-made for the price. I have smaller wrists that the average bloke, and their size and thickness suits me nicely.
Quirky and unusual, not many others will know what they are, or have seen one (this may be a positive or a negative, depending on your point of view!)

I'd be super tempted by a Longines Hydrconquest, either chrono or otherwise...

Thanks for all the help folk. Pulled the trigger on a 2008 TAG Heuer Carrera from Dominic Hackett today. It looks new despite its 12 years & was substantially less than the current equivalent.
Dominic was recommended elsewhere on Pistonheads & I found him a very pleasant person to deal with. As stated earlier, I am a newbie as far as purchasing quality watches; Dominic explained the history of the watch & gave me confidence that his online description was spot on. A low value transaction (probably) for Hacketts but I was made to feel important & was not rushed.
Can't wait for it to be delivered tomorrow!
