The seller said that it was 1985, which looks about right to me. I don't know how to check for sure.

It's one of those watches that reminds me why I like it when I wear it, but it doesn't get the chance much in the first place

Remove the bracelet and the serial number is stamped on the case. Then cross reference it: http://www.watches.co.uk/rolex-serial-numbers/

I have a 1971 King Seiko Chronometer, this and a Sumo. I'm pretty tempted by a few Grand Seikos though. I left the Sumo at a friend's house around Christmas and haven't seen her since so I need to eat round to picking it up!
