The bezel screws should always line up on a Royal Oak as they are not screws but bolt heads which fit into the hexagonal cutouts on the bezel. There are screws underneath which then screw into these bolt heads and .... as you can imagine they do not line up
I suppose you can still get the slots out of alignment as there would be 3 ways to fit them in rotation. You would have to question the maker if he didn't notice that. Attention to detail is the number 1 attribute to have being a watchmaker IMO.
What are the slots for then?
Aesthetics, and because the design is based on a ship’s porthole.

First one I've seen where the screws line up!

Lovely.
You're getting confused with Hublot.

Picked this up earlier - looks good after a decent polish and is something a bit different for me.

^^^^ Missus wink

I'm wearing this for a few days to keep tabs on its function for a customer. It needs a service and some other work to tidy it up but it's generally in OK nick. The keen eyed amongst you will notice a gap between the diamonds at 32 min point. There is also a slight gap at 57 mins but it's not so obvious in the pic. I'll get that sorted tomorrow.

Even the not so keen eyed would identify another gap. That between the piece in question and good taste.

Presumably that is an after market bezel applied for the purpose of containing bling?

It looks like the Rolex diamond bezel but the quality is not as you'd hope for such a high value item. The fact that gaps can exist says to me that the bezel may be 'close buy not close enough'. Good taste aside, it's still a nice watch if you're into that sort of thing.

The owner is not keen to send it to Rooex, and neither am I in all honesty.

No, I wouldn't let that anywhere near Rolex.
