Omega x Swatch Collaboration
Discussion
I've 2 omegas, SMP300 and a BroadArrow.
The release of this Swatch doesn't make me feel a mug for spending £000's on my Omegas.
It's just a bit of fun and I myself am looking forward to buying the mercury and Pluto editions.
Other than initial looks, the watches are nothing alike. Anyone who thinks they are and are pissed that they spent £000s on an proper Omega Speedmaster, really need to re-evaluate why they bought the watch in the first place.

Anyone paying over RRP to a flipper is an idiot honestly, but some still will.
I think they're really cool though, I'd like to grab a couple when they're available online later.
The thing is, Swatch are saying these are unlimited, but, and here’s the but… they are unlimited for 3 months. Then they are being discontinued, the same length of time as Swatch apply to other collaborations.
So if they are continuously sold out for 3 months, and snapped up each day by the ‘Thermos flask’ jokers queuing from the night before, then I honestly think it might be a struggle for ordinary punters like me and you to get one.

I want to know how to build a relationship with my Swatch dealer. How many Flik Flaks do I need to buy to get on the list for a MoonSwatch?
Made me laugh I might just buy a couple of ‘Swatch X Centre Pompidou’ in order to grease the wheels…

I looked at the entire range on the Swatch page earlier & instantly though of the pink Venus one for my 13 y/o niece & the red Mars one for my 10 y/o nephew.
Omega is my favourite brand so I think this is a great way to get youngsters in to the brand & oldies like me to have a lowish value holiday watch.

Anybody been past the Edinburgh store? Hoping to drive up from Leeds late tonight/early tomorrow to hopefully bag a mission to the moon! Don't want to waste a journey if there are already huge ques!
TIA
If the photos of queues currently outside Swatch Boutiques around the world are anything to go by, then unless you are sat there right now with your Thermos and folding chair, it is already too late. (Have a look on Twitter/Reddit)TIA
No queue in Munich this evening, but people continually trickling in to ask the question.
I LOVE the idea, but we might need a reality check here.
From what I saw from a very quick look, albeit through the shop window, they did look, as others have said, plastiky.
Maybe better on-the-wrist.

A friend has gone across to Edinburgh tonight to stay in a hotel with a view to getting up early to buy one. He has just sent a picture of about 5 or 6 people already queueing with duvets and folding chairs.
They have been told by store staff that they are not allowed to queue overnight and that the police will move them on. They will be allowed to queue from 8am apparently.

Going to head into London tomorrow morning but not holding up much hope of actually being able to bag one.
They seem to be being sold on eBay with buy it now for £800+!
Mad queues in other parts of the world

A mate is in Melbourne and there’s like 2000 people in the queue, lots of them camped overnight.
Popping in after lunch isn’t going to work.
There’s stloads on eBay already, and it’s not even open yet!

Apparently they had 150 in total.
If you’re not in the queue already, don’t bother.
Are people honestly going to be still queuing in 2 months in anticipation to get one?
It felt like it was something I'd go for as a daily watch while speedy sits in the vault in my undeeground office however im Not sure I'm too bothered now about wading through a load of tight wods in store on the off chance they'll have what I like.

I'll likely pop in when working in London on the off chance they have stock if they don't sell them online as well.
In two minds as to whether to go tomorrow as there's already queues stretching hundreds of meters

Feel free to point out exactly where in this thread I have 'slagged off' anyones taste in watches? Or 'slagged off' any watch?
I haven't done anything like that. Quite the opposite. I love all kinds of watches, and all kinds of prices, including cheap plastic ones made by Swatch.
That picture is just a joke. Don't take it seriously.
The only people who could possibly get offended by that picture, are the 'Flexers'. Flexers are people who are angry about the fact that anyone can now buy something with Omega written on it, for £200. To be honest, I'm happy to offend those people because they are being completely ridiculous.

Get a grip Man? At least don't argue with yourself!
Anyway, enjoy your Friday night.
I'm off to do something a bit more important now.

I hate flipper s.
Yep.Best result for me would be if first thing Monday it turns out Swatch actually have bottomless piles of them available worldwide at the basic price with free shipping, and dheads who've tried to play that game are left holding the bag on a load of watches they can't even get their money back on once Ebay fees etc take their cut.
