Due to this thread, I am now the proud owner of an orange Monster.

I decided I didn't need a subtle watch....

It looks massive due to my tiny wrists.

Seeing as mine will be going scuba diving at some point, I decided to opt for the rubber strap so it would fit over my wetsuit.

All for £110 from Singapore. Sweet.

Andy

Unless I've missed it in this thread...why can you not buy a Seiko Monster in a high street shop?
Don't really want to buy from some dude in Japan which perhaps only leaves me with ebay as a source.

They're just not sold officially by Seiko in this country. It's all about the Kinetics, really. No idea why.

OK, thanks.
What's the going rate for a Orange monster?
Prices seem to range from £115-£150

Gareth, a lot of us bought ours from Creation watches

Just over 100 quid, none of us had any problems with the seller.

I would be more hesitant to go down the ebay route myself.

Out of interest did you get stung for import fees and taxes etc on that?

I did indeed, not much though: a tenner on duty and another £13 to ParcelFarce.

It's purple; a purple night monster, in fact.

See page 2 or 3 of this thread for suitable innuendo...

The steel strap bracelet has an adjusty thingy that lets you extend it to allow it to go over a wetsuit.

Which will work really well as long as your wetsuit thickness matches the extension difference, IYSWIM.

Very nice! The purple one is rather subtle at a glance but more prominent when you look at it. It's not as anonymous as the black/black that I have.

So, let me be the first to ask - have you polished your purple monster yet? They pick up fingerprints like nothing else hehe

Had my orange monster now for about 5 years, got as an engagement pressie smile

I went for the subtle seiko orange divers rubber strap to match the orange face yikes

Wear it as a daily watch and now keep my 25 year old citizen for best as has a more subtle blue dial, along with things like alarm chrono, count down, 2 time zones etc - still amazes me when the hands move backwards to the correct time even after 25 years

Always like the divers watch style after 'borrowing' my fathers Aquastar many years ago and going through many a casio g shock's

I'll try post pictures later
