I was about to say the same. On paper the blue would be the one I’d go for but seeing them side by side I’d take the grey every time. Blue is way too deep and dark, though I’m sure it changes with the light.

Horses for courses etc. I have a Blancpain Bathyscaphe chronograph with a blue sunburst dial and find it a bit too garish in bright light. My overseas definitely brightens up but I like the dark ink blue I see most of the time - I think that’s down to the dial being lacquered rather than a metal finish. The subdials on the VC keep it more muted than the 3 hand / dual time faces, which suits my taste but won’t be for everyone. Sun bursts always look a bit odd to me, as if they’ve not been finished properly.

Here it is, this was in relatively low light conditions so it looks quite dark. The sun burst is really vibrant when the light catches it and the blue is almost cobalt.

I saw a desert edition recently for around £8k on eBay, seems very good value!
