What does your watch say about you?

Ok, a couple of serious questions!
Not that it bothers me, but I am genuinely curious to know what people would think if they spotted the CCCP on the front of this watch. I bought it because it interested me, not because I have dubious loyalties!
Let them think what they want, comrade! Not that it bothers me, but I am genuinely curious to know what people would think if they spotted the CCCP on the front of this watch. I bought it because it interested me, not because I have dubious loyalties!

re they knock off Pateks? Those blokes in Hong Kong never can spell.
The dial and handset are very similar to a certain Patek, but with that case and the text on the dial, no one will get confused. The name Paketa or Raketa (depending on the translation used to our alphabet) means Rocket in Russian. The Petrodvorets Watch Factory have used that name since 1961 to honour Uri Gagarin.

...And finally, if you insist you don't like watches, then why on earth are you up to page 8 on this particular thread?? Yes, a watch and a wedding ring are the only items of jewelery a man can wear. And if you're fussy about cars then chances are you're fussy about watches. If you're not fussy about watches then I suggest you own up and add your name to the thread called 'Anybody on pistonheads own a Citroen Picasso, because they're always dented and are utterly crap'
I like that!I have took a liking to TokyoFlash and have the classic 'pimpin aint easy SS'. I suppose that is my nerd side coming out and a liking to their wacky design.
And I agree about Casio being a 'school watch' but looking at eBay I am shocked by the price of some of the classic 1980s digital watches. Some of them are over £1000!

What about Doubling Down. What does this say? (Can imagine Joey Essex loving this look)
If you are going to double-down, do it like a boss. Do it with style. Do it with a dash of pizzaz... I think the above is a fascinating picture, and for all initial Soviet opinion that Castro was just some clown 'haute bourgeosie', looking at this scene you'd think that Cuban sugar was indeed far more significant than Soviet fuel! It's like "...hey Nikita, guys...you need me...you need el presidente..."
I'm not sure what wearing a Ploprof over your shirt (with space-age shades just adding to the look), says about you, except maybe this: that phenomenally wealthy industrialists and tycoons tend not to abide the rules. They tend to change them.
Talking of which, I read somewhere, probably a biography or something, that when a meeting with Saddam Hussein used to go well, he was very fond of handing out Patek Philippe 3746Gs and the rest of it. I'm not sure many could/can chair a meeting quite like Saddam used to - Stalin probably has the edge - but you know to sit there for four hours, sweating profusely in your military outfit that all of sudden is way too tight around your neck, and then through a cloud of cigar smoke, the bossman grins and hands out PPs and APs like it's your birthday....that's got to be a good day right?
