That's a great looking watch!!

My new Casio Ediface, two links out to make it fit, has some funky stuff like world time zones, a temperature readout and dual stopwatches!!
Nice. Very nice.
Thanks, it's a smart little thing!!

It's arrived!
I was about to be really annoyed that the days are in French but it changes to English at about 2.30am. not sure of that's a usual thing or not.
Thankfully I bought a winder too because you can only seem to change the day and not the date with the crown so I've just had to twist through 25 days to get the correct date!
It's a lovely looking thing though, very pleased.

Lovely, I think crown rotation one way does the day and the opposite direction changes the day!!

Could we have a separate thread for gopping beaded man bracelets .? laugh
Well that’s your opinion and that’s fine, the 3 silver rings have my kids names on. They are aged 16,10,and 9. They are all Autistic and they saved up their pocket money, chose it, ordered and payed for it, all on there own as a surprise for me for my birthday. As such, I’ll wear it with pride every day as it’s massively important to me and makes me smile.

To you it’s gopping, it means the world to me.
Well said, i have three bracelets of my own and have no problem with them, wear it with pride my friend.

Still looking for a green watch in a diver style and google threw up Etsy and a customiser. Slightly over budget at £225 I’m wondering what the esteemed members think.

It's a nice looking watch but for less than half the price you can get IMHO just as good quality in the form of the Steeldive SD1970 from SteeldiveUK.

Comes with the green silicone strap pictured and a good quality stainless strap too!!

Aparently it's an NH35, with a saphire crystal. My first supercompressor. It came in at exactly half the thread budget. Purchased at 3pm today, the seller has already posted and it should be with me by 1pm tomorrow.

I'm quite pleased with myself, I remember the Hamilton from the Bond movie and I remember the rather short-lived red led era before lcd took over, so seeing these posts and a look at the new PSR a spontaneous purchase was pretty much on the cards and added to basket. Then I thought "Nah!". Such restraint!

My five quid Watch Gecko Rallye strap is not lasting well at all. Already started to delaminate. I am sure a few thread regulars bought one.
I'd be returning that and asking for a refund!!

As reported on the previous volume, I am delighted beyond reason with my Steeldive Willard, so much so that I can vouch for three forward sales to friends and family all of whom are equally smitten.

I'm now sitting here thinking I need an SD Puck as well as the Seamariner... After all, I'm worth it. Have any other members of the 200 club pulled the trigger on these pieces? And if so, have they bestowed good health upon the wearer?

nono We don't allow that sort of language around here!!!

Chaps I’m going to return to Amazon USA this Casio EFA12D - 1AV world time dual display with thermometer - it looked great on Bobberoo’s wrist but not on mine. Does anyone want it before I do ? I Paid £50 happy to post for free
Not worn or even had time set.
(Mods delete if not allowed)

On Bobberoo (!)
It's an interesting little watch packed with features but it does wear quite small, shame you don't like it, well worth the £50 paid though.

Anyway, as the thread is also subtitled ‘occasional opera’ , BrokenSkunk has suggested a team meet-up in Southampton on
OK, I'll sort something out in the next few days.
This isn't thread drift, this comes under "occasional opera."
I'm looking for a venue relatively close to the Mayflower theatre, with a car park, so that we can do the cars thing, food and preferrably outside seating to keep us Covid safe.

So far I'm thinking one of the following (in order of preference), but I am open to sugestions.:

  • Dancing Man, with parking in Mayflower park. Excellent food, excellent beer. 0.8 miles What three words: ///noting.royal.frames
  • Brewhouse & Kitchen, (Highfield lane). Great pub, but not close and not well known.1.6 miles
  • Cowherds, OK, not great, not very close but everyone knows it. 1 mile
  • Brewdog, Bedford place. No outdoor seating. Pizza only, beer a bit too strong for the dirvers to stay legal, Difficult to find. 0.4 miles
  • TGI Fridays. West Quay. Doddle to find. Disadvantages: No outdoor seating, it's TGI Fridays. 0.3 mile.

I suspect we'll start around 4.30 to give Barchettaman a chance to look in before he has to go to work.
Anyone attending the opera will need to be there and seated by 7.30.

So, I know Bobberoo will be all keen & bouncy, but is anyone else interested?
I'll be honest and say that I think we'll struggle with ticking all the boxes, The Dancing Man Brewery is a good call but it's quite a walk from the theatre, there's a very good restaurant called Turtle Bay a bit closer and parking available behind the theatre in a multi story, like BrokenSkunk I'll give it some thought.......
