Taking the plunge - First pricey watch?
Discussion
Good advice.
As for not "being arsed" to wind a manual watch, then just buy a quartz and avoid the risk of ever having to reset and wind your watch if you don't wear it for a day or two.
Personally, I love the engagement of a hand wound watch (yeah, it takes, what, 5 seconds each day? ) and the slimmer case that not having the usually bulky rotor imposes, not to mention the lovely movement - I'd advise you to get a display back on a Speedy...
Automatics are, in my view, a grossly overrated compromise in most cases...

Automatic watches are the pinnacle of life in the future. I pity you poor finger winders living in your candle-lit caves. As for not "being arsed" to wind a manual watch, then just buy a quartz and avoid the risk of ever having to reset and wind your watch if you don't wear it for a day or two.
