I'm a sucker for a sports chrono watch and the Hamilton Intra Matic would be my choice at that budget. I love the large classic style pushers.

Not necessarily a new one. An auto not a spring drive, it will need to come from overseas - so not totally risk free - Plenty on Chrono24

Also baby Grand Seiko are pretty good
