Really? Between wife and I we've got 7 pairs of Gucci and 3 pairs of Prada and they've been nothing short of fantastic.

Here's some pics of my LV Tambour Automatic GMT if it helps. I bought it two years ago from the LV store on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. I love it, and not because it has Louis Vuitton on the front! It's understated, unlike a lot of the premium brand watches. Five year guarantee, free servicing too...

You might want to enter the word "fashion" in between the words "brand" & "watches." It's a pleasant piece to look at but I'm afraid to say that in no way is it a "premium brand watch" as indicated by it's movement.

I've had a few pairs of both and still have some Prada shoes I wear, which are great. However compared to my Churches or Berluti's they are very cheaply made.

Any way back to watches, I think there are far better brands out there with their own movements and a bit of history. However if that is not your thing go for it, but hope like Gucci, Hugo Boss or any other designer branded watch that they don't change styles each season as it will be worth knowt. I have a mate that bought a G Logo'ed Gucci watch a good few years and he wears it now, most people keep saying to him it's a fake, he has tried to sell it but no takers. I think fashion branded watches just sometimes have a bit of a stigma attached to them

It's all down to what you want at the end of the day though, not other people opinions.

Enjoy looking around and I hope you find something you like.

Gman, hit the nail on the head your talking about fashion brands branching out into watches, not cool, although louis vuitton as a whole i find a bit chav, but how can any of these fashion brands, and lets not argue thats what they are compete with the rolex, omega, breitlings of the world, mont blanc are a good example as a brand they are all over the show trying to do everything and have such become lost! like anything in life you need to stick to what ya good at, and louis vuitton are good at making those big baggage sets for wag's so should they not stick to that? louis vuitton watches ffs!!! may as well buy a DKNY!!

If was going to spend a couple grand on a watch, I'd want something decent!

Something with a bit of history and heritage.

At those prices (~$5k on their website), it would feel more like a really expensive fashion accessory.

Can't see it's any worse than bring dead brands back to life.

Prada own Church's..
Audi own Lambo so your point is?

They are still two very different brands, with Church still producing in Northampton.

I like many of the Maurice Lacroix watches - but I just can't get my head round the 'fashion bit'. Stick a different name on them and I would jump at one.

I really should just grow up.....having said that Its somewhat academic as I can't afford one at the mo without selling and I'm not in the market to sell.

Indeed, and aspects of Audi show on Lamborghinis, in the same way the Church's line is ENTIRELY remodelled since the takeover.

I own both Church's and Prada, and must say they are both brilliantly made, comfy and smart.

As I understand it, the whole point of a tourbillon, aside from the mechanical stuff, is for a watch manufacturer to show that they can make the most difficult mechanism there is, and make it look nice.

Buying one in seems to defeat the object somewhat.

I think you'll find that almost everyone buys in their tourbillons ... certainly I can't see those that don't make their own run of the mill movements will be making their own tourbillon.

I agree, but I still have a pair of pre 99 Church shoes which I have sent for a make over several times to Northampton prior take over by Prada. I have another pair post 99 which I have sent since. But I still consider them to be Church shoes, not Prada.

Any way that's just me.

Back to watch's.

Cheers
