Funky - I saw that exact watch and agree it looks bloody superb! However I think it was something like double the price?!
yes the price is one of the issues that's stopping me just saying feck it what the hell.
In a similar vein, this DeVille is quite stunning too...

yes

As I said, I think I'm going to look like a toddler wearing my dad's watch otherwise! hehe
Bet you won't. The Seamaster will feel bigger on the wrist than the Speedmaster - you're going to have to come up with another reason not to buy it immediately I'm afraid...
Thanks, you're worse than Tony! hehe

You should put a disclaimer in before you talk/say/act, Stuart. "Warning, what I am about to say might cost you a lot of money" hehe
Too bloody right!

Ok, I will have to go and try both before I buy... (Un)fortunately, if the 41mm case is fine for my wrist, that'll mean I need a Tag Carrera as well! hehe

Right, is there anywhere I can compare the Speedmaster series with their RRPs?
The Omega website isn't that useful as I can only look at details of the watch with no prices...
There is a very nice one at £1500ish on the Classifieds... scratchchin

For RRPs I tend to just look at Goldsmiths or Beaverbrooks

Well after months of umming and arrring i've ended up with ed's watch (above), and that's with thin wrists.

Get yourself to your local s hopping centre that will have a few jewellery shops and have a look/play/feel.

I do hope that Dom H is planning to send some nice Christmas gifts to all of us on the PH watch forum who've been giving him all this business all year wink

Will certainly give him a shout if (more likely, when!) I decide to get a Speedmaster. smile

Will certainly need to try both on first, don't want to end up with a watch that is too big for me!
Shouldn't really be looking at them at the moment as well, spent too much money on various things already!!!

i picked up a speedmaster planet ocean in the summer and its hardly left my wrist since. I don't like big watches but this one seems to fit really well, it sjust seems err right.

My others have all been left in their boxes asleep

I've been browsing the Speedmaster variants for a few days now, just wondered what people thought of the 'Snoopy' edition?
I quite like the look of it, but can't find any for sale beyond a couple on eBay (I'm watching them).
There is an old link to a sold one on watches.co.uk but none elsewhere, just wondered what sort of value people put on them?
I see from watches.co.uk they had an original RRP of £1600, I assume that put them just above the 'Reduced' price-wise? scratchchin

I used to have a reduced (I thought the automatic would be easier than manual wind) but now have the full size pro.

The bracelet seems nicer on the moonwatch than on the reduced and it definitely feels chunkier. As for size I have fairly big hands and wrists and it sits fine, I could even manage it being a little bigger.

The Snoopy usually commands a premium over the standard watch on the used market (they will all be used now, you can't buy new) because it is one of the more favoured of the many special editions of the moonwatch. I don't really like any changes to the subdials, but that's just my personal preference.

I have a snoopy edition which i currently wear everyday, but I'm thinking of getting a used seamaster or something to wear all the while as I've noticed snoopys are starting to get a bit collectable.
