He definitely looks like he might be a good contact - thanks.

Anybody have someone they've used that they would recommend to service an old Seiko that Seiko themselves don't want to touch?
You could try Anglesea Watches. He's a top man to deal with.

I thought I’d upload a small post on this thread now I’ve had the watch about a week and had time to learn about it a little more.
It’s a seiko presage SRPC97J1 and is limited to 7,000 pieces, though they also made 5,000 ladies versions separately. There is a clear caseback, on the edge of which the watch is inscribed with “limited edition” and which model number it is out of the 7,000.
The dial is inspired by a cocktail bar in Tokyo, specifically by the cocktails created by Hisashi Kishi at “Star bar” in Tokyo. The dial is called “Fuyugeshiki” which means winter day, and is meant to represent this day in Japan.
The watch has a deployant clasp on a multi-link bracelet and a slim profile. I literally haven’t taken it off since I was gifted it and have found it suitable for almost any occasion.
Apologies for my rambling, but I hope some of you find my little monologue of interest.
At around 400 quid that was less expensive than I was expecting. Looks nice.

There’s someone on another forum who gets sent watches to service and does loads of old Seikos. I’ll try and dig out a rebuild of a Pogue that he did.

Lovely that - congratulations. The strap on yours looks black; is it actually black or dark blue?

Thank you, I love it. The strap is a really dark blue, so suits the watch perfectly.

That's lovely - an enamel dial too.

Thought I’d have a go at posting a photo. Bought this a few months ago, after some inspiration from this thread smile, whilst in Japan.

A quick strap change! Thinking the atlas may look good on a black NATO strap - as the clasp has bent.

Not a watch, but I won this on eBay the other day...

Lovely condition and was even in what I think was the original box. It has a very hefty weight to it, the main button has a heavy mechanical ‘click’ to it and the ticking sound is massively satisfying. I’m very happy with it!

Does anyone know the age? I’m unsure how to tell!

Cheers smile

I don't know the age but I would quite confidently state that this is awesome. May I enquire what one might pay for such a device?

I’m thinking of selling my 3rd gen green Sumo which has a Strapcode hexad fitted, the watch is as new with a few light scratches on the bracelet.

I love it but want something a bit bigger.
Got the box and paperwork if anyone is interested
