Hey everyone.

I picked up a seiko SKA Kinetic Watch and love it. Issue is, I rotate my watches every couple of days. Everytime I get around to wearing my seiko again, its dead. Takes a good day/2 days to fully charge again so I can use it to tell the time!

Any advice or appliances one can buy to keep it charged?

thanks!
You can swap out the capacitor for a battery and then you'll have a regular quartz watch. Obviously you'll have to replace the battery every few years and you have to remove the rotor as well to prevent it from charging the non-rechargable cell but it'll save the hassle of trying to charge it and setting the time every time you want to wear it.

Or just wear it for an extended period to get a full charge in it as there should be a six month power reserve if the cell is in good condition.

I had a rechargeable battery fitted to replace the capacitor in mine a couple of years ago.
Cost was about £40

Gents,

What's the consensus on this?

https://www.chrono24.com/seiko/save-the-ocean-turt...

Are they decent watches? My future wife wants to get me something to keep for our wedding day, as she / we can't afford an all gold Daytona and i still waiting for my Batman i want something like the above.

Anything i need to know about them?

https://www.thbaker.co.uk/seiko-mens-prospex-save-...

Also what is the difference between a J1, as the chrono24, or K1 as thbaker?

Bargain SKX007 I got on eBay, needs a new bezel insert but I can’t decide whether to mod it or not...

No real difference k1 j1....j1 will usually command a premium as most believe it to be better as its beleived made in japan.

Nothing wrong with those turtles but I prefer the later great white shark save the ocean model.

I got mine on a recent sale with Ernest Jones, 249 pounds delivered. It has replaced my SKX which is currently on eBay.

I had no intention of buying a Turtle to be honest but at that price it had to be done, and I also wanted an STO at some point.

The dial is lovely, especially when the light hits it just right and it shimmers!

I've got the Sammy STO and the dial is what makes the watch in my opinion.

Considering all the hype with the dawn grey ones which looks really dull, the STO dial is another world!

The STO Samurai is really nice, I have an orange Samurai at the moment which I really like can imagine how good an STO one would look. I got mine for an excellent deal at 212 pounds delivered from Amazon US a few months ago, which stopped me from getting the STO Samurai deal which was going on recently at around 280 pounds or so, just couldn't do it considering how cheap I got my orange one..

Let's see if it ever comes down to 250...

Really fancy a Seiko Suits with the mesh strap and cream face but have only found some from Spain.

Does anyone know if a UK retailer has any?

Online sale is fine.

It's on the way from Japan. Thought it was time to get something I could wear without worrying about damaging it, plus it looks very retro and would like something fun

My watch is in for a battery change, so borrowed one of my dad's watches.
It's from the '60s, and is automatic.

1289/2018 limited edition This has been sat in the box for ages so thought I'd put a few miles on it.

Forgot I had this until I found it in the garage the other day. It was my Grandad’s and a quick search shows that it’s early 70’s. Not on original strap. Been wearing it for the past couple of days and it’s losing time so might look in to a service.
