Real-world option? I keep looking at this:

I really love the ethos behind it and I'm sure I'll own one at some point.
The ethos was simply to make myself something that I really liked, and then to cross my fingers that a few other people would like it enough to buy one before my wife found out how much it'd cost to do!
Indeed! I loved that you just thought, "Sod it... I'll make my own..". I think it's a great-looking watch and you clearly put a lot of thought and work into the design and engineering.
Thanks Funk. It's one of those things that you can get really obsessed with, down to the very smallest of details and I'd highly recommend it. The only advice for anyone wanting to do the same is that the man logic of 'I'll sell a few before my wife finds out how much my little hobby has cost', doesn't work. Women in general, and of course specifically any woman you've been married to for 25 years, know exactly what you're up to within 5 minutes of you starting on it.

Maybe at some point I can help put my finger on the scale the other way for you!

It doesn't help when the auction house phones up and says 'The car that you and NDA have just bought together - they want to know who to deliver it to'. Bastids.

I like everything about these apart from the design of the second hand, which to me looks like something off a super-hero themed child's toy.

Sorry to pee on your chips, but could it be any busier?

And I mean you can actually afford!
Apple watch series 4, is probably the only thing that’s tempting me at the moment.

Yes quite. It is also a classic Breitling look - I think it looks terrific and it would tempt me too.

I am NOT in the market for another watch, but am currently torn between a Spring Drive GMT and the Aquanaut GMT. One being silly money, the other being remarkable value.

A plus one, for what it's worth. It's just about the only Rolex I've seen in my entire life that I actually quite like.

I keep going back and forth with these - they seem quite pricey for what they are, and do you get the green/blue one to cement the milgauss status, or keep it simple with black...

... why not both?

I like it too but as fullook commented earlier in the thread, the second hand ruins it for me. It looks awful!

I must say that I do like the look of these, not sure I need any more watches but I'm tempted. thumbup
