Wearing an old favourite today. I have since acquired many more, but this stacks up well against much more expensive stuff. Of my dive watches, it's actually better made than the Breitling, not far off the Rolex, and only really properly beaten by the Omega (which beats the Rolex as the finishing is better, but I understand the latest Submariners are improved over my Hulk generation)

Re link removal: not everyone has super steady hands, the right tools or an inclination to do it themselves. I'd also feel more comfortable that if they scratched the bracelet they would have the means to put it right, whereas i definitely don't have that at home.
Snd sometimes it’s not obvious, I had to look up how to adjust this!

Those screw heads at 2, 5 and 11 would irritate me.

It wasn’t mine but apparently Santos owners like that the screw heads are aligned

I mean no offence to the previous poster, but am I the only person capable of resizing my own watch bracelets?
I will be delighted if I never have to resize a Seiko pin and collar bracelet again.

I've seen this mentioned on other watches with visible screws. Personally I'd rather the screws were done up to the correct torque than have the slots aligned.
The manufacturers could make it easier on themselves if they used allen or cross head screws though smile

Nice... I bought a Raymond Weil many years ago - stolen in a burglary along with my Ebel 'wave'. I was sad to lose them as they represented my first decent watches.

I have a hankering to replace the Ebel - but will resist.

Me too! Awful things and even when I’m really careful, one of the collars always goes missing or gets slightly damaged so that it doesn’t hold the pin tightly enough. All of my Seikos are on leather or rubber now, except the Sumo that’s on a Strapcode bracelet

I love this watch. I used to have one exactly like this that was my father's who passed away in 1989 when I was 7, but sadly got stolen in a burglary at my place in 2018. Needless to say that the sentimental value was immense, way more than the actual watch's worth.

Agghhhh that’s awful! :-(

This is my Dad’s, I think he bought it in 1982

Thank you. Possibly the same year as mine!

I won't even consider adjusting pin and collar bracelets, Sinn links with their screws are much easier!

These are lovely! I’d be so worried about being targeted for it that I’d never wear one in public, though. They’re not exactly subtle!

Photos under direct light can be disappointing! The scratches on the bezel are invisible normally but highlighted here.

Funnily enough, I'm in your camp of thinking. I'm only wearing it around the house. Only place I felt safe to wear something like this is HK, which I haven't been to in near 2years.

Regarding the Rootbeer, it's actually more subtle that you think. Put all the modern GMTs together in a line and it's the one that's least blingy.

This is the Rolex I would really like. That said, the Air King has caught my attention recently. Love the yellow and green stuff going on, and the Bloodhound SSC relevance. Someone on here has one, and I liked the photo he posted.

yes

The Air King is a very cool watch. I like the history, and how it's very un-Rolex biggrin

Not mine, by any chance? smile

And the cringey ‘steering wheel’ posed shot….
