Saw one on a grey NATO on YouTube and thought that looks great. Not a fan of NATOs so got a faux suede strap from AliExpress.
I'm well chuffed with how it softens the watch and the grey picks out the grey on the bezel perfectly.
I really like this model but it seems pretty hefty on dimensions. Just out of interest how big is your wrist? I'm not keen on lug overhang and it's a challenge I tend to face with larger watches I'm well chuffed with how it softens the watch and the grey picks out the grey on the bezel perfectly.

Right! Let's bring down the tone a bit in here. As most in this thread know, I got an SLGA007 the other day, but on the same visit I picked up this:
Zoro Seiko 5 by Alex D, on Flickr
It's a limited edition 'One Piece' watch. There are 6 or 7 of these I think, and this one is the 'Zoro'. One Piece is a long running anime and manga series, I've been reading it for about 15 years, and it's pretty important to me. I was tempted to get all of them, but this one is enough. Seiko 5 watches are expensive these days! But they've also had a fair bump in quality.
Damn, that is awesome.Zoro Seiko 5 by Alex D, on Flickr

I'd feel like a fraud wearing it though - I know nothing about manga stuff, even though I think the concept is pretty cool.
Edit: wait is "Ninja, The Wonder Boy" classed as Manga? I had the videos when I was a kid and loved them!

This wear extrmemely small for its size. I would say it wears as a 41-42mm. I have a wrist of around 7.75"
here is a pic of me wearing a 42mm Seiko 5.
Cheers, a Seiko 5 Field watch is on my hit list...if I can squeeze another watch in this year.... sadly I don't think the Samurai will work for me as it's just too big for a 6 inch wrist...specs have the lug to lug as 51mm...I don't like to go above 48mm as things start to look 'wall clock' esq.here is a pic of me wearing a 42mm Seiko 5.

Seiko 5's generally work well for me, here are my two albeit poor picture:

My watch is actually a Shogun, not the samurai. It has different dimensions and wears smaller than the samurai. Being titanium also means it weighs next to nothing.Seiko 5's generally work well for me, here are my two albeit poor picture:
I would say 38mm Seiko field would fit you perfect!

My bad...assumed it was the same model......il have another look at the Shogun, really like the case shape and excuse the terminology but that white dial really 'pops'!I would say 38mm Seiko field would fit you perfect!
Your terminology is correct and funnily enough, that is what made me buy it! The white dial looks so clean.
This review may answer a lot of questions for you. https://youtu.be/ox7aMPO6YqU
You can find them currently on sale at 1/2 RRP in the UK. I wouldn't buy at full price. Too many others to choose from at that price!

Am going to add to a couple of threads with the same watch, because it fits them all
Advice given elsewhere landed my eldest (9) with his first proper watch on Christmas Day - I'd initially thought a "watch like dad's" would be way too much for a young lad's Christmas gift...but these things are a steal!

I would be interested to know too please, somehow that loud orange really complements the dial colour and lifts it..makes it pop a bit more!
Cheers chaps. It's just a cheapy 20mm padded orange leather strap from eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294060993322 and it is a big improvement on the webbed strap, especially when wearing a navy shirt/sweatshirt. I can't take credit for the colour combo either as I took some inspiration from an Omega Planet Ocean

Can you give me the model number please. I rather like that.Wifey came back from HK with a crafter blue strap for the shogun. Since fitting it, it will never be coming off! The design of it with fitted curved ends to the case just raises the perceived quality of the shogun. The original rubber strap was comfortable but very utilitarian. The crafter blue makes it look like a more expensive (more than it is at least) sports watch over a nice divers. Best £45 spent ever on a strap!
Here's how it comes from Seiko:
Here it is with the crafter blue:
