I can't see how they can possibly be described as reasonably priced.

Just bought one of these off Amazon on your recommendation. Will spend the £119,975 saved on some home improvements, the forthcoming service on my Maserati, and maybe a large bag of Reece’s peanut butter cups from Costcohttps://sc01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1UvT1NFXXXXawaXXXq6x...

You've maybe saved a bit more than you think. An 052's RRP is probably closer to $500k.
It's just turned up from Amazon, I can confirm it doesn't lose anything to the original in terms of how naff it looks! Am receiving as a xmas gift so won't be able to update with pics and running reports etc.

Can you imagine how daft you'd have to be to spend a half bar on the 'real' one ? lol!
Not really that daft if you get offered more than you paid for it in the future...
Some people thought it daft to buy a Rolex Daytona 'big red' back in 1985 for £800, not so daft now its worth £30k
and don't get me started on Pateks
Buying things that bomb = daft
Buying things that increase in value = quite clever
Yes there is always a risk element but wether it be £100 or £1m, if it goes up its all good news

All very well if you're a dealer or a flipper, but not much consolation if you're not and realise you've spent $500k on a novelty watch whose closest 'homage' costs $25 Some people thought it daft to buy a Rolex Daytona 'big red' back in 1985 for £800, not so daft now its worth £30k

Seriously tho, I'm a strong fan of RM and think they're a breath of fresh air in a pretty stuffy market as well as hugely innovative engineers. The 005 and the 011 are just wow!
But the novelty models like the skull and the green dragon horror.....naaaaa they should leave that to the cheap fancy goods market especially if they're going to soak them in cheap diamond crumbs.
From reading a few watch related pages on Facebook, it seems the negative feeling towards Richard Mille is echoed further afield than just Pistonheads. It seems owning an RM is almost as bad as owning a TAG!
Personally, I really rather like some of their simpler pieces. The RM002 Tourbillon posted a page or so back is a perfect example. A combination of interesting materials, futuristic design and exclusivity means the brand is quite appealing. However there are some real hideous designs/limited editions too!
Would I have one? I don't know. At such a price point, I'd probably look at an A.Lange & Sohne ... or something really interesting from an independent brand such as Schwarz Etienne or Czapek. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though!

Have you seen the price tag for the RM 011 Titanium bracelet?

No wonder if he's charging 65k for a strap!
Eliminating the investment potential ( and I freely admit to having no idea), I still think that these watches are among the ugliest watches ever made. Have seen one in reality and still did not get it. There are some watches such as higher end Pateks that I admire, but in this case, even if it were only a $5000 watch, I would not think of having it on my wrist.
Respect that this is a very personal choice, but I honestly think they are graceless things.
