Who wears an expensive watch regardless
Discussion
Had a Breitling Bi-Metal Chronomat Evolution which I wore every day for 15 years whilst working on site installing Security systems and the like.
Wore it whilst using SDS drills, hammers you name it, wore it throughout holidays, swimming in pools and the sea.
Had it serviced once in this time and it came back like new, sold it for more than I bought it for.
I now tend to look after my watches with more care, I think I appreciate them more now, but they can take it.

I wear my watches all the time.
If I am painting I will take it off, at the weekend I was chopping up pallets with a reciprocating saw and wore my Seamaster all day with no issues.
I don’t wear my “irreplaceables” for this type of thing, but would happily wear a Pam etc for doing work, defeats to object of owning them if not.

I wear my Nautilus for pretty much everything. Only really take it off for chopping wood or if I go out somewhere particularly dodgy (Sao Paolo, Mexico City etc). It's nicely scratched but pretty tough.
I only buy a watch every decade (ish), so they get pretty 'patinated' before they're retired to the drawer!

I wear either my Tag F1 or Sub daily for everything apart from working on my car/proper DIY (no point risking scratching it for the sake of it) or drumming, as I'm not sure the shock of that would do them much good.
If I'm on a night out it's normally the Tag, but they've both often been in the sea with me, skiing, playing sports etc. The Rolex is insured on its own policy from WoS and the Tag is on my home insurance, although its value to me is purely sentimental. What's the point of having them and not wearing them!?

I wear my expensive watches all the time apart from the Daytona, that cost a bit much to go digging the garden in but in general whatever I am doing, wherever in the world I am doing it I will wear one of my watches. That’s what I bought them for & what the additional insurance premium I pay to specifically cover the watches is for. Don’t see the point in leaving them in the safe for ‘special occasions’, might as well just have the cash & that’s what a bank is for.

Yeah, I scratched the glass on my carbon Tag Monaco moving the garden furniture into storage for the winter.
I also lost my dads Pepsi GMT when I was wearing it when I was clubbing when I was 17 ... it was a tad loose on my wrist and came flying off while throwing some serious shapes in Tall Trees back in 1999 - he was less than happy but did see the funny side of it (eventually)
I do also have a load of GShocks (including a few rare and Master that are pretty valuable) that get worn for everything too

Pic? I only buy a watch every decade (ish), so they get pretty 'patinated' before they're retired to the drawer!
I'm a big fan of the Nautilus, but they're just impossible to get hold of. It is most definitely a watch for everything.
ND Sub , been on most days for 18 years , gardening, washing the car , being out on my bike , whatever, I just don’t give it a second thought.
Been serviced once by Rolex in my ownership, some on here and other watch forums are just far to precious, just wear the damn things.
Ps. It’s not insured either.

I mix mine up quite a bit.
I have a Speedmaster Pro as daily office wear that does take a beating, but cleans up rather well, an early 80's Rolex Datejust for "special stuff" and a Brietling Avenger that I never wear as its fooking massive...
Then I have a bunch of Casios, a Christopher Ward, Victorinox and a Vostock I picked up years ago. I probably wear a mix of those last four as much as anything else.
I'm not precious, but I don't like wearing expensive watches in places where they could buy a small village.
Apart from being a touch insensitive, its adding risk that you don't need.

In 18 years of wearing my sub it’s only been commented on two or three times , your average man in the street doesn’t either know or care about watches.I have a Speedmaster Pro as daily office wear that does take a beating, but cleans up rather well, an early 80's Rolex Datejust for "special stuff" and a Brietling Avenger that I never wear as its fooking massive...

Can’t agree with the adding risk comment at all , never heard anything like it.
Last year I needed to sell my sea dweller to help pay my ex off and I got thinking, why have I got two other watches that I cant wear all the time. So, I sold them / px'd them in and got a ceramic sub, which I wear daily and some cash. I do have a G shock too, but I very rearly wear that
