Finally picked up my wedding watch and went for the JLC UTM Moon as I always thought I would even after agonizing and looking at every alternative!

Slightly nerdy interesting detail, mine has the above rotor which was produced only very briefly between the "1000 HOURS" writing one and the fully skeleton gold logo rotor. Does anyone here know enough about JLC to pinpoint exactly how long that period was?

That strap looks nice.. is it the Admiralty Grey one?
Yes although I've seen another strap advertised as admiralty grey and the other looks quite a bit more ... grey.

https://www.silvermans.co.uk/products/watch-strap?...

It's a very comfortable, thin strap which suits; although I have had the BB on a Watchgecko 141 zuludiver NATO which is quite a bit chunkier and that also looks great IMO. The Phoenix strap has a) glued sections rather than stitched for the hardware/keepers which is potentially less durable but fits with the heritage theme and b) something that isn't ideal is the distance between the locating holes, a good half an inch I'd say which means the chances of getting it to fit perfectly (for me anyway) is slim. I employed the 'poke a hole in the middle of 2 existing ones with a small screwdriver' method to get the correct fit. Not ideal.

If your wrist lines up with the holes for a secure fit it's a great strap.
Many thanks, will get one ordered!

I was looking for a holiday watch so have ordered one of these from Creation. They seem to get good write ups so we shall see. I hovered briefly over the benefits of a J or a K but on the face of it the K seemed to win. The alleged better lume and crown action won me over the better case finish of the J. I don't know but I'm sure it'll do the job. Might consider a nato for it .

Own several j and K models, there really is nothing in it at all.

That JLC moonphase is lovely!

the seiko is brilliant, nato straps i'm not such a fan, slower to put on, can get sweaty if you're subject to that, a solid metal braclet or the original rubber is perfect beach/pool combo

So Natos get sweaty, but rubber doesn't? I don't like Natos because they are too flimsy and too bulky at the same time, but rubber straps are just a PITA for me.

I've never actually used a rubber (snigger) so will leave it on meantime.

Tissot Navigator arrived yesterday. Somewhat chunky. Very happy for £300 quid odd.

This arrived just now. An impulse buy (I really shouldn't look at watches latest night!) Very impressed with quality, comfort and incredible value at under £200.

Snap, kind of. Mine has just arrived in the last hour or so too, although I went 44mm orange. I’m really pleased with it and already looking for NATOs. I might also consider a beads of rice/mesh bracket too.

I bought a selection of 24mm straps and the DH is my only watch (Apart from Panerai) that uses such a size , see any here you fancy , sure we can do a deal , I like the tropical one to be honest so wont be using any of them

I have one of these as my holiday watch. They are superb for the money. The one thing I never got on with was the rubber strap though. They are great on a NATO.

I found the rubber very uncomfortable- the ridged bits near the body really dig in. Fabric straps are flimsy, but very comfortable.

Metal straps on ‘cheap’ watches can be very uncomfortable imo too.

For me, it's just that rubber doesn't breathe, so it sticks to your wrist.
