Put the old Alipinist (sarb017) back on its original strap today - has been living on a navy blue nato for the last year - and bloody hell I forgot how stiff these straps are..! Ouch!

I was going to try it on an old Page & Cooper grey rubber strap but it looks like the fat spring bars I wedged in there for my (sadly stolen) Blumo aren’t going to budge.

Decided I needed a new and more dressy watch, as I wasn't in love with my Cristopher Ward C9 Harrison GMT any more. Treated myself to a Presage Cocktail Time in the ice blue colour:


Love it, the dial is awesome. It changes colour markedly with the angle, from the front it's almost a cold silver colour, but as you look at it from shallower angles the blue becomes much more apparent.

Thank you Someone on here has one of them, you may have seen it already but there are some pics.

The Mockingbird version is very nice too, with the dark green dial. That came up recently in a thread where someone was asking for opinions on which green-dial watch to go for, the Presage or a Certina special edition.

Time it right and you can get some very good deals on these watches, too.

Bought these two about 10 years ago.. One runs for a bit and the other doesn't. Probably just need servicing and cleaning but not sure they're worth it?!

This is my favourite kinetic. It's been my daily for years and it's getting a bit beat up but it's utterly reliable, dead accurate and I love it.
I actually like the milanese bracelet on yours and I'm tempted to get one for my V175.

Cheers, it’s a cheap shark mesh from eBay like this, you can get milled clasps to swap out the pressed one that comes with it. I might get a black one to go on my Black Edition Samurai. The std spring bars are too fat, you’ll need to get some thinner ones.

My bday present and my first automatic watch. I do like it a lot.

Forgot about this one for many years. Had a new strap put on it and sent it back to Seiko to be repaired as had stopped working. They repaired and refurbished it.
Out of all my watches this has the nicest fit on my wrist.
Purchased new in 2006.

These are my two Seikos. Gen1 Monster and a King Turtle. The Monster was the watch that got me into watches.

I still think that the Monster was and still is the best value-for-money watch ever made. You can talk about your Rolex's, but for what it cost a Monster is, if you want it to be, a watch for life. Really tough, and in car terms equals that Toyota pickup that Clarkson & Co tried to destroy. I still have it, along with two others including a Prospex which cost four times the Monster, yet it isn't four times the watch that the Monster is.
