Anybody heard anything from Nigel O'Hara about their recent purchases?
funny you should say that - I raised a ticket this morning as I'm getting a bit nervous. Paid them £250 and not heard a dickiebird since My ticket raised at 9am has not so far been answered. I didn't pay on credit card so if they go under I will find them & kill them with fire.ohara said:
Thank you for your email. As you are aware, this item has been ordered from the manufacturer specifically for you. This is stated on the product page beside the 'available to order' icon. We will contact you via email as soon as we have secured a delivery lead time for you and will continue to work to ensure that this item reaches you as quickly as possible. However, the latest delivery information we have suggests that a consignment from Casio is due with us towards the latter end of next week which should include your ordered watch. When we dispatch your order, you will be emailed with a unique Royal Mail tracking ID and a link to the Track and Trace facility. Your patience is appreciated. Kind regards...
I placed my order on 27/06, and as I hadn't received a dispatch note, I raised a ticket on 30/06.

Got a bit impatient, and raised another ticket on 07/07.

Thank you for your e-mail, We assure you that we will have this item with you as quickly as possible. The order has been successfully placed with the manufacturer, and we will have it with you as quickly as they are able to supply it. As we are working by their time-frames, we are in that transitional period that we have no control over. We try to be as honest as possible with our customers by making this clear at the point of purchase, which is why no time-frame is provided. We would also like to assure you that we run an efficient service, and expect there to be a swift turnaround from this point. You will be updated by e-mail upon your items arrival with us. Kind regards.
After responding to Ian's post above, I did some digging and it turns out this is very much a common theme with Nigel O'Hara.
Sorry gents, it was me that put up the link to the sale in the first place (albeit, no affiliation with N'OH)

I have ordered from Nigel o'Hara in the past with no problems, but, and this may be a load of rubbish,
I went in to Derby on the weekend of the sale and cheekily asked a watch shop if they would price match Nigel o'hara on a watch i may have been interested in at the correct price, £285 down to £142.50, knowing they probably wouldn't/couldn't go that far.
They told me they won't match Nigel o'Hara these days as he has apparently been black balled by Casio for selling at these really low prices, so they won't supply him with watches and the ones he does sell aren't covered by the Casio warranty (which has surely got to be cobblers).
At the time i just took that as bullst because he was being undercut on price but it made me think enough not to order one.
Might be worth you guys keeping a close eye on it, hope you all get your watches without too much agro.

That does make a lot of sense given what I now know.
The old adage should have rung with me - if looks too good to be true, it probably is
Thing is someetimes there are some cracking deals. The old adage should have rung with me - if looks too good to be true, it probably is
A couple of years ago i got a GW-4000D-1AER for £110 from Amazon (The Watch Shop supplied), obviously marked up wrong as it should have been about £400 at the time. Looking on the Watchuseek forum to see if anybody else had seen it, they had, told me that they sold 10 at that price and they honoured the incorrect price. They had made a balls up when putting it on amazon.
So cracking deals can happen.
You may well still get your watch but it may come from somewhere other than Casio.

To be fair to N O'H, communication has been good, it's not as if they're completely ignoring me.
At this point, I'm not *too* concerned, I think I'll eventually get the watch.
Update: Just had an email saying it's been posted

Groupon has an offer on at the moment, G Shocks from £50. I quite fancy the Bluetooth one but it's not solar, puts me off a bit!

Lurker's first post here. Anyone else go for one of these and received it yet? I haven't and my emails to them haven't yet reassured me.http://m.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/gg-phot...
My GA110B-1A3DR needs company....

My GA110B-1A3DR needs company....
As today is the "seventh working day" as quoted for delivery I've put it to paypal dispute. My GA110B-1A3DR needs company....
The emails from Photodirect don't inspire me and it smells of the "notify royal mail of the tracked shipment so it shows on tracking, don't actually post it out and then blame royal mail" routine.
Better start looking for another one.
Edit: Having raised a Paypal dispute it's now shown up "properly" in Royal mails tracking so hopefully things are looking up.

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, that groupon I was whittering about above is now back on;
http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/special/gg-photodir...
Having bought the GA-300A-1AER last time round once it arrives and checks out (hopefully today, looking at tracking) I'm tempted by the GA-200SH-8AER

Ive fancied a Rangeman since i first saw the teaser shots pre-release... now, weve just booked a 2-week holiday to Japan in October!
Anyone ever bought one there on holiday? Significantly cheaper than getting in Blighty?
Also, the UK spec version is black with a positive display - the Jap version is black with negative display and a carbon insert on the strap. They are nearly £400 on Amazon.co.uk
