I like these but have never seen one in the flesh. What is the quality like case, strap etc?

& are you driving on the tarmac at Gatwick?

That's lovely! The I love enamel dials, I feel like I should have more than the one I do have.
Handled a bunch of AnOrdain watches over the weekend and the stuff they do with enamel is impressive.

It's actually very well put together - strap isn't perfect but fits my little wrists well - lack of much micro adjustmnents may hamper some, it will probably be changed soon though. The case is lovely - the different finishes are all well executed and it catches the light well.

I'm driving on the tarmac at GLA !

I tried on a 6159-7000 the other day, the high beat diver. Pretty cool watch, can't believe what they're trading for.
I had the SLA 025 for a while. Lovely thing but couldn’t find a strap I liked that worked with the heft of the watch. If there had been a 19mm crafter blue I’d have kept it.
I swapped an Enicar SherpaGraph Mk III for a Seiko 6159-7001 a couple of years ago, and it's a hefty old thing but feels like it's made from solid granite. The gold details and the smooth sweep of the hand are a thing to behold.

I didn't like any of the rubber straps I tried and instead put it on a leather rally strap - heresey, I know, for some diver fans - and I think it works really well.

Fabulous diver! Looks great on the rally strap too.

I’ve had loads of Tunas over the years but never a “proper” monobloc 1000m one. Just picked up this 35th Anniversary LE version. It’s a bit bigger than the 300m models but the titanium case and ceramic shroud make it so light and comfortable.

Work watch, bezel set to the time the line block expired.

Was spiking the ground whilst wearing this recently, checked the time shortly after and the minute hand was out by 45 mins, think I found the 4r36s limits!

Several years ago I was walking past the Seiko Paris shop and espied the new (at the time) Dawn Grex Prospex Turtle. An impulse buy, I haven't worn it a lot but dug it out for a few weeks and I have to say that I find the watch somewhat disappointing. Not at all the quality I would expect from Seiko, and believe me, I have had a few over the last forty years. The bezel turns too easily and every day I reset it several times, but worse is the time keeping, currently losing three minutes a week. I shall send it back to Seiko and have it serviced, but again, I expected far better from a respected maker. my Monster keeps better time.

Just arrived. Released this week, SSK003K1. Calibre 4R34

Basically an automatic gmt at a great price. Feels very nice on, good bracelet with solid links, hardlex bezel, subtle sunburst dial. I even don’t mind the cyclops. Clasp could be a bit better but for £360 I don’t care. It easily looks as good as a £1700 Otis for instance.

Edited to add a pic or two taken in the sunshine

Went into the Seiko Boutique in Knightsbridge yesterday, well worth a visit! They have a vast number of watches from pretty much all the Seiko ranges, including Grand Seiko.

I saw that GMT in there, and in the metal it is absolutely stunning. Lovely watch. Punches well above its price in quality, finish and looks.

I know there are a few other Speedtimer owners in this thread and I decided to join them because once I saw it in person I was bowled over. Such a great looking piece, a great size, and I’m loving the solar quartz for accuracy and the fact it’ll still be ticking when I get it out of the drawer.

It’s my new daily. Perfect for work and day to day. Very happy with it.

Very similar to be I received for my 18th birthday. Which is sadly almost 30 years ago now. Still works perfectly though, very tough watches even if they don’t feel it!

Just got this - used but maybe a couple of years old (?), not sure. I like the look, and the lume is nice too. The solar compass will obviously come in very handy if I ever get lost in the desert, in the northern hemisphere, when the sun is shining. smile

Cool, that's got the movement with 2 different quartz crystals, supposed to be very accurate.

I've now had it for a month. In that time it has only gained 1 minute, I wear it 3 days a week and haven't had to wind it yet. All in all I am very pleased for the price.

What is your verdict on the Strapcode bracelet?

Worth the money? They certainly do look good.

I'm thinking of buying one for my Speedtimer as posted a couple of days ago. I love the watch, and the bracelet is fine, but with only 2 holes of micro adjust, I think I may try something like the Strapcode.
