Seiko produce some really well-proportioned, well designed tool watches.

None taken biggrin

It’s complex, quite clever but very difficult to use the bezel as it’s intended. One of those I wanted to try.
beer

If you like it, then that's fine. As they say on the more pretentious watch-related forums, "Wear it in good health".

I like the over-complicated look- reminds me of the amount of text on the most interesting digital watches of the 1980s. And an old slide rule.

However, since I generally stop wearing any watch which is hard to read at a glance, I won’t be buying one hehe

Just found my old Seiko 5 military that I purchased way back in 2012/13 (even posted on this thread) and it's in a bad shape. The "5" has fallen off and the face is all scratched up.

(I just set the date and time but realised it was broken then took it straight off)

Where is the cheapest place I can get this fixed & serviced? Is it even worth servicing/fixing it shall I just sell it on eBay? I haven't kept track of pricing but they seem to have gone up in price quite a bit.

Mmm might be time for you to give modding a try.

I was gifted a similar snk in poor condition with a damaged dial from this very forum and the end result was this.

Sorry about the photo orientation.

yes it's a great starting point and that 5 is a very nice "blank canvas" you could give a very distinctive look.

My recent ebay purchase. I've been wanting a Grand Seiko for a long time so, Merry Christmas to me!

Seller's photo as mine are rubbish.

You got a bargain there! (I got an alert on eBay) I bought the exact same from Japan (Chrono24) and I love it! I'd never really considered GS because of their crowns (seemed a bit insipid) and I really liked the Explorer II design but I was becoming disabused of the Rolex brand in general. I love this watch and I'm actively considering more GS in the future.

Yes, it was very keenly priced. I'm not sure if people are tightening their belts or if the watch just slipped through the net for many people?

People only know about rolex/omega. To my mind, it's one of those, if you know, you know watches.

I stuck mine on a plastic strap from etsy, lovin' it!

Finally scrolled down enough the page to find this forum. Dusted off my Seiko the other day to pop it up for sale and was reminded how gorgeous it is...maybe I'll hang onto it for a bit biggrin

With the recent addition of the green MM200 GMT (SPB381J1) I've updated my "all the Seikos" collage

This is all the Seiko's I've ever had / still have.

Ooooh. Some more details please. Might mod it or just replace the parts, but if it's viable enough without costing too much.

Have you got the model number for 5 across, 1 down? (Yellow handed chrono?)

I’ve got this one, bought it around 1996. Can’t seem to find out much about it. It is common / rare?
