Incoming… what do you have? (Vol. 3)
Discussion
Have always loved these, for two main reasons. 1) They are different from the norm visually, not many watches about that look similar. 2) The materials it is made of; Cermet. So a sintered, powered oxide of a metallic element, probably Zirconium, as a ceramic. So it's hard. Very hard. Scratch proof, unless you have a diamond drill hanging about.
Saw this for sale in Japan, never worn, like new but actually around 15 years old.
Hard to photo cos it's so damn shiny!!

Always quite like Rado. The main thing that put me off was how many of them were quartz.Saw this for sale in Japan, never worn, like new but actually around 15 years old.

Yeah, I get that the movement is nothing special, but for me its the style and materials of the rest of the watch- strap is Cermet with titanium clasp, watch case is Cermet, glass is sapphire crystal.Wildfire said:

It's a lovely watch and the engraving will give it that personal touch to add to the sentimental attachment. Wear it with pride in his memory.
I was given a Raymond Weil quartz diver for Christmas, and was not too impressed. Due to the circumstances of the purchase (don't ask - a very generous family member who knows little about watches buying from the wrong person), could only swap for another from the same brand. Was pretty unexcited about this, but just went and tried this on - and absolutely loved it. Solid, nicely finished, and very good looking. Sapphire glass, good weight and a very good bracelet. Think I will go for it (has been heavily discounted)
Freelancer Diver automatic (modified ETA movement) in blue. A great daily, I think, for just over £1k. I tried on their £2600 Freelancer automatic chrono, which felt flimsy and not worth anything like the money, so it shows that price isn't everything.

Speaking of Raymond Weil's, my dad's Bowie watch arrived last week. He's not really a watch 'enthusiast', he has a couple of cheap Rados and some run of the mill stuff like Hugo Boss, Ben Sherman. But he's a huge Bowie fan so I managed to persuade him into buying one of these which he's really happy with...
