i keep uhm'ing and ahh'ing on a PRX quartz. Can get a quartz one for not much more than thread budget, and i actually prefer the quartz sunburst dial to the auto waffle dial. Would get it on a rubber strap but still keep thinking its still a bit too dressy.
I keep looking at them too, then wonder where it would fit in my collection/when I’d wear it (not that has stopped me in the past)It seems pretty decent. Might do a strap change at some point.
The briefest of brief opera updates, but it’s a horological one!
The curtain has just gone up here in Wiesbaden on Die Walküre, set (it would appear) in a WW2 temporary airfield. The Valkeries are all fighter aces in Biggles hats, I’m the base commander in a fetching uniform:
If only I had a nice Beobachtungsuhr from an original Luftwaffe manufacture to set the outfit off. Oh, hangabout, it’s a thread favourite:
A Laco Type-A Flieger!
Happy Easter all!

That Laco is a very nice and understated watch. Fliegers look best simple. Come to think of it, I've yet to see a busy face watch such as a Chronograph that i think is truly good looking and so dont own one, but I've only really seen Citizens and the like which are famously jam packed. Any suggestions?

I agree. Busy faces or bezels put me right off. eskidavies said:

Mrs gave me this watch many years ago and it has spent at least three years sitting in an old wooden box with a broken strap stopped dead. Sentiment being a funny thing, it's now got a new strap, a new battery and has been back on my wrist for a week or so...the cheapo replacement parts and getting the strap altered probably cost more than the watch did all those years ago, but it's been a faithful friend...
Same here present of missus many years ago It’s had 2 batteries one lifetime in timpsons but I lost ticket ,so I bought tool and done my own recently.
Still in good order

The central minute chronographs like the EZM1 are the best at this. Thanks for some of the suggestions, I have indeed found some chronograph watches I like.
By all accounts the eco drive is the industry leader in solar isn't it? Plus they make the Miyota movements which are often very good.
An evo drive field watch will probably be my next purchase.

Any love for Citizen Eco Drive in here?
I'm a fan. Every Citizen I've seen has been well made and the ones like yours seem very professional if a little busy. By all accounts the eco drive is the industry leader in solar isn't it? Plus they make the Miyota movements which are often very good.
