Were I in that bit of the market I'd go Zenith.

But a Defy Skyline.

Not helpful, sorry.

Should I hold out and wait for a Daytona or should I buy this?
The only reason I'd buy a SS Daytona if offered at RRP over the Zenith is to sell it. When it comes to the RG or WG Daytona, I can't get my head around the increase in cost from £22k to £28 in the last 5 years.headache

You have to love the watch. I paid near enough £10k, I'd be lucky to get £6k if I sold it...I went in knowing that. Tbh , I don't like the subdial treatment on the Daytona, I never saw this watch as a choice between them, as I never wanted a Daytona.
Saying that, if I were offered one at list the resale makes it a no brainer lol.

Also, never buy your second choice, you just end up still wanting the first choice and you've made it more expensive because of the hit on the stand -in when you part ex or sell it.

Picked this up today. I’ve been wanting a dress watch for a while. The only one I could find for sale in the UK and the owner lived five minutes away!

This one holds its own against some of my more costly watches.

Very comfy on the crafter blue the bracelet end link integration on this watch always grated me a little......it'll probably never go back onto the stock bracelet.

A lovely watch. I felt at 38mm and the small seconds there was a bit too much space on the dial (I do prefer a second hand) so will be going slightly smaller Calatrava instead. Great watch though, nice to see something really classy.

Regarding the El Primero vs. Daytona discussion, have another strong contender for best chronograph.
