Some recent developements

New Rubber strap on the Rotary Aquaspeed, it definitely looks better than the original padded leather

It feels a lot more comfortable as well

The recent(isjh) (may 2020) cheap automatic purchase is now on a rubber strap as well:

Much better than the original cheap as chips metal one, that like it was going to fall apart at any point

While I was on a tear replacing straps, I updated the strap on this one, a much smaller Ingersoll Navigator ( must be 20 years old, needs a battery), the whole face lights up on this one, remember when that was a thing?

Here they are with my other recent purchase (Rotary Super7) for context, watches have got bigger and heftier over the years!

Pulsar solar arrived yesterday. Looks nice enough but the bracelet is rubbish so will be changing that, not sure whether to go with another bracelet or something different like a sailcloth maybe?

What is the finish like on the watch itself?

Blue sailcloth would look good. Maybe a strap like on the blue Mido Oceanstar GMT.

But to be honest, as long as the bracelet is exactly the right size a bit of cheapness never bothered me. Or is it really too rattly to cope with?

The finish on the head of the watch is great, polished case with a bit of light brush on the top of the lugs. The lugs have a nice downward curve to them so fits on the wrist nicely. It's big but doesn't feel too big and not too heavy.

It's really quite rattly and cheap feeling, thin pressed clasp and folded links. Just found a navy Seaqual Zuludiver on Watchgecko with quick release spring bars, £14 delivered and on the way.

Looks like these listings are for that strap?

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32981216000.html

On a related note, I see they stock the rubber keepers that I have broken on a couple of straps, so I will have to stock up! smile

Incoming!

Squale homage with nice Lume and an nh35 for £63 delivered.

I just couldn't help myself and thought it would go for a fair bit more than it did.

Not Casio’s new crown gasket, or the Thing’s arm cheese but what my work watch can end up looking like after a less than pleasant night shift...out with the white vinegar it is...again.

Well I've just had an email cancelling my squale as allegedly it's 'damaged'

More likely it didn't go for as much as he wanted so big fat neg for him and money back for me!

It's one of my favourites as well.
You're not about to lose your watch I hope.
