A technology which died out in the mid-seventies. I'd get a movement shot up, but being a Timex it doesnt look great biggrin I have a Hamilton with a similar type of movement, but I haven't got any photos of it yet. I'll get some up soon.

I think it >is< fantastic but it wouldn't be my choice. I'm an old fart mentally and would have a gold PP complication for the dosh smile

By your definition, this is my 'grail', had it 9 years now. Never seem to get tired of it. Recently thought about trading for a 197 (same watch in gold) but the numbers don't work at the moment.

A grail with no date? I am apoplectic! wink

I really need a new grail... I am lacking a real want/ need for something new at the moment!

Yes, I have seen a doctor!

Hmmm……the 12, 3, and 6 look as though they work perfectly fine – they're still in the right places.
Are you sure you just weren't looking at it funny?

Had another at taking a picture. I'm thinking of buying a Portofino Automatic as a modern version of this ^

Just a cheapy one, but it's rather nice for under 60 quid.

Simple handwinding model.

Not quite a wrist check but thought I'd bang up a pic of my son's 18th birthday present. He was only born on Wednesday! I've got one the same already but you can't deny it'll remain looking great in 18 years up against future competition.

18th is a rough guide. Could be for his 1st proper job, uni graduation..... 1st Pole in F1 (lol) or something equally memorable.

Congratulations Edward, and your better half, it,s all down hill from here on in.
Mate, having had nearly 9 months of stress, illness and uncertainty I think in our case it's all uphill from here. A massive positive progression for us.

That will still look great in 18 or 21yrs. If he doesn't end up as a good un' I'm available for adoption smile

What the plan, have a service every ten years or so..?

Very clever buying one you've already got... I know if be tempted I wear it otherwise!!

^^^that was my thinking.

Yeah, a service every 8 to 10 years I reckon will keep it in good order. It'll need to be kept in a watch winder to stop it drying up but thats ok, my AD has plenty in stock. They had a new dweller in last week apparently. Sold in hours at rrp. Yet to see one in the flesh.
